Black pour with a 1 finger, soapy to creamy tan head that has good retention. Aroma is full of roast and nutty notes, some chocolate, dark coffee, burnt sugar, licorice and light, but sharp dark fruit notes. Flavor is slightly sweet caramel and chocolate up front, reminds me of a Riesen’s candy, actually, then a little char, nutty notes, coffee, a little toffee, light leather and mineral notes and some light fruity and pine notes to the finish. Medium body with a creamy feel throughout and a light to moderate carbonation with a fairly soft feel. Very good stuff overall, the flavor profile is dead on, I could drink a ton of this stuff, unfortunately the price and alcohol content means I won’t.

This is pretty well done, if a touch imbalanced. Lots of roast, a sharp bitter malt aroma. Dark chocolate but no sweetness. Pours black with mocha head and decent lacing. Medium bitter finish. Bottle from Total Wine.

Dark brown with drown head. Strong roasted malt chocolate aroma. Bottle says ist 8.5% but to me if tastes like 5-6%. A hint of sweetness, some chocolate and a hint of earthy hops. Mocha (chocolate-coffee) finish with lingering roasted malt flavor.

Bottle. Dusty chocolate, roasted barley, green, slight herby, citrussy nose. Med full bodied, quite bitter, body. Some soft ash, more of the dry chocolate, green citrus pines in flavour. Ok american- hopped roasty stout. Easy drink despite the highish abv. Good bitters leaving a dry clean finish.

BOTTLE. Pours black as oil with minimal cream head. Nose is dark malts and small amount of coffee. Coffee & malt up front rolling into a heavier malt finish with the coffee fading to more of a vegemite flavour. Sourced Pourhouse Dunsborough

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark mahogany with a frothy light tan head with some broken lace. The aroma is light sweet caramel malt with a little smoke. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter with a smooth, rich chewy roasted malt, light hop, light smoky liqorice bitter palate. Moderate to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Decent oatmeal stout. Very light in flavor and easy to drink. Milky flavor with a slight roasted malt finish smells of coffee and milk. Pours black women th a tan head. Had at lady Gregory. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 2/22/15

Aroma: The nose is roasted malt forward, some light smoke, wood notes, and a bit of tobacco
Appearance: Pours a dark brown-black color with a foamy light brown head and drippy lace
Flavor: The flavor is dry and roasted malts, light smoke/tobacco, and a mid-bitter close
Palate: The body is medium-full, not overly heavy, with a soft carbonation, and a fairly dry finish
Overall Impression: This is actually a quite enjoyable, dry, and fairly easy drinking example of the style. There’s a lack of sweetness that works nicely here. Dry and enjoyable.

Black. Very heavy roasted, but surprisingly smooth and the roasted, almost burnt malt flavors are not overpowering notes of coffee and chocolate. Good palate, and some sugar.
