3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Warm caramel butterscotch, grassy herbaceous hops. Flavor is bready, lightly hopped with floral and herbal accents, balanced finished. Lingering caramel and spice. Semi-dry finish, a little nuttiness perhaps, with a rising hop bitterness at the finish. Clean fermentation profile, it seems. Overall crisp and easy drinking, balanced. Light amber color, modest head.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Aroma of grain, (corn) malts, and a hint of perhaps orange citrus. Pours a clear golden amber with a small, mostly diminishing white head and spotty lacing. The taste is mildly bitter. Grain, biscuit, with a bitter finish and a biscuity aftertaste. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, disappointing.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
355 ml bottle, at home. Into a tulip.
One finger of white head, quite good retention for its size. Light lcing left on the glass’s walls. Golden orange colour on the body, clear, with good activity in it.
Aroma of cookie dough, grass, hoppy as in english bitters/IPAs.
Nice taste, I couldn’t find any info about its IBUs but it’s quite bitter, and with a long duration. For a small part, taste follows the aroma, maybe with a bit of orange as well, but the flavours quickly fade and are replaced by the bitterness. Really nice.
Medium body, good carbonation, maybe a bit on the low side but it works good with this one.
Overall very nice beer, enhances the english style IPAs a notch.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a clear amberish copper with initially a large white head that leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma is earthy with a bit of dank floral, old hops and malt. There is an odd moldy smell to it that is very off-putting. Taste is malty and earthy, but the earthy is more of a dirt taste. Also rather dank and wet cardboard-ish taste here too. There is a good underlying bitter, citrusy hop taste here, but it is buried under less than desirable flavors. I’m hoping that this is just a bad batch that picked up an infection. I’d hate to think that Left Hand would put their name on and market what I am tasting. May buy again, but not before buying a single bottle to test to see if this was just an infected batch.

Excellent US IPA with an authentic taste and aroma. Golden colouring and slightly sour taste. Another good ’un from Uncle Sam.

April 2010. Bottle. Light amber color with a white head. Good IPA bones with caramel, pine, citrus and hops, but nothing that really stands out.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear golden appearance, very white head. Aroma of apples and hops. Thin feel on the tongue. Taste of floral hops, w/ watery middle and finish. Was expecting to be blown away w/ hops, but not the case. The hop flavor is almost pot like. i guess I’m not used to the european ipa style. With further sampling, the mild hop presence has grown on me. Non abrasive and smooth sipping. Great session Ipa.
