COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a sticke, the secret alternative to a German Alt. This beautiful German style stands out from the crowd with mahogany colored body and a creamy off-white head. The aromas sing of burnt sugar, bread crust, and rose water. The flavor of this beer has sweet notes of biscuit malts and Buchholz. With all it’s sweetness, this beer finishes as dry and bitter as a German comedy.

Sample at Hoppin’ Frog. The beer pours a clear brownish-amber color with a thin foamy white head that recedes quickly. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of smoked malt and fruit. Medium-bodied with flavors of burnt malt, Fruity Pebbles and coffee. The finish is sweet with a sugary cereal malt aftertaste. Average overall.

On tap at Tapwerks. Pours a clear deep amber with an off-white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of bread and grain with a touch of toffee and biscuit. Flavor starts sweet with toffee and grains then mellows to a bit of a bready finish.

Pour on tap at Tap n Handle, clear orange-red pour with white head, aroma brought dough, caramel, bready notes into a bit of spice, earth, slight grassy, floral notes in there with a hint of red fruit as well as some hop. Taste is a mix of spice, earth, hop into a bit of grass, doughy, yeasty, bready notes with some sweet caramel, finishing sweet.

Growler. Pours amber with a thin head. Malty, toasted bread, and some light sweetness. Very faint hoppy notes and just a hint of booze. Not bad.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a transparent amberish copper with thin foamy off-white head. Smells solid; malty with notes of caramelized sugar. Tastes like it smells, only a little sweet(er). Average on the palate. Decent beer.

Tap at Oasis. Burgundy amber-brown body. Not much of a head. Bigger, maltier than a typical Alt, think Sticke Alt. OK.

Hazy amberish copper, very thin head. The nose is belgianesque and dark fruity with a plum/date ester. The taste is a bit dry for my taste, but has a earthy caramel and dusty raisin tone about it. Hard to explain. Not a fan.
