3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 tomciccateri (738) - Albuquerque, USA - JAN 30, 2012
On draught at O’Niell’s Left Hand Beer Dinner. Opaque dark brown color with slight tan head Big chocolate aroma. Medium body, avedage mouthfeel. Begins with chocolate flavors, even dry/sweet character. Oaky flavor grows into finish. Vreat complementary flavors. Slightly dry finish. Not as full a mouthfeel as the Nitro Milk Stout. Late slight al ohol warminv, but not as much as Wake Up Dead Russian Imperial Stout. Nice

Tap @ Tap n Handle Foco. Black appearance with a dark brown head. Roasty, woody, dark chocolate malty aroma. Very nice and delicious, big cocoa, fairly toasty/woody, vanilla, light caramel flavor. Kick ass.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Butters (3014) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAY 24, 2012
Sampled at Brewvival 2012. Clear dark brown pour with a ring of tan head. Sweet, nutty, toffee aroma goes okay with the tootsie roll, lactose, big roasty vanilla, oaky flavor. Semi chewy body. Cool beer, but not great.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 daknole (5865) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAY 6, 2012
Tap at Papago. Nearly a black pour with a tan head. Aroma is up front with some plums, molasses, milk chocolate and some oaky/alcohol notes. Flavor is lightly tart, molasses notes, cocoa, prunes...don’t taste much oak.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 keanex (348) - Williamstown, New Jersey, USA - MAY 1, 2012
On tap at Dubh Linn Square poured into a chalice.
A: Near pitch black, but as I drink some I noticed it’s actually a near opaque garnet, very clear. A very thin tan head greets me by the time it reaches the table.
S: Complex aroma of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and oak, the more I smell it the more I realize this is the mean old grown up version of Milk Stout.
T: Very intense, dark chocolate and roasted malts up front with a strong oak and alcohol finish. This is very assertive of flavor, regardless of which it’s presenting to you at the time.
M: Thick like syrup with fizzy carbonation.
O: If this had the balance that Milk Stout has I would give it perfect ratings, but then again this is it’s grown up version. This beer is mean and ornery and lets you know it.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 arminjewell (3116) - Parker, Colorado, USA - APR 10, 2012
Pour on tap at Parry’s dark black pour with creamy tan head, aroma brought notes of lactose, milk chocolate, creamy mocha and slight coffee, hints of coconut and vanilla in there as well, some slight earth as well. Taste was fairly nice, very creamy, but not much flavor, some slight lactose, hints of dark fruits and caramel, touch of milk chocolate and slight coffee, finishing fairly sweet, some slight ethanol burn.

Aroma is very subtle with chocolate, mole sauce and slight mocha. Pours black (duh) with slight lacing. Taste is intense yet subtle. Chocolate toffee and root beer. The alcohol is apparent but adds to the candy experience. Like it.

On tap at Avery Strong Ale Fest poured a clear dark brn with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of carmel, toffee, cocoa, ligh smoke and a hint of fruittiness. Palate was medium bodiued and smooth. Flavors of carmel, toffee, cocoa, and light fruittiness with a smooth lingering cocoa finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TBone (9434) - Pori, FINLAND - MAR 14, 2012
Draught@Rattle’n’Hum
Dark opaque brown color, small tiny brown head. Sweet kandi sugar, hints of vanilla, light toasted notes. Full-bodied. Oily palate. Some vanilla, cocoa, light toasted notes. Crisp finish, lower carbonation could do good for this.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 onceblind (1623) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 1, 2012
Tap at Freshcraft. Clear very dark brown with some ruby highlights. Thin persistent light tan head. Smell is all over the place, in a good way. Raisins, cherries, chocolate, oak, espresso, slightly burnt toffee, more chocolate, vanilla booziness. Taste is roasty sweet with a dark fruity tone, like cherry, raisin, with dark toffee, lots of cocoa, a touch of oak, light vanilla, some toasted caramel, more boozy dark toffee, and dark fruit tones with a touch of espresso. Wonderful, a sipper for sure but fun and delicious to drink.
