3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Dark brown with tall off-white head. Nice aroma of roasted malts with fruity notes. Thinner body than the typical porter, smooth texture, and medium-high corbonation. Sweet up front followed by roasted malt bitterness and hints of chocolate. Not what I expected and it doesn’t strike me as porter, but not bad overall.

Transfer from BA review on 11-19-12-
Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass
Appearance – Served a deep brown colored brew with a small tan head that fades very fast leaving very little lacing.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of roasted malt with strong roasted coffee smells and some dark chocolate. A light sweetness is present as well. It is mainly vanilla and caramel in nature and nicely balances out some of the roasted smells.
Taste – The taste begins with strong tastes of roasted malt and some coffee. The chocolate detected in the nose then start coming to the tongue mixed with some of the lighter sweet flavors of vanilla and caramel. As the taste advances however notes of smoke start working their way to the taste. Toward the end a light bitter hop flavor joins the profile bringing a nice blend of hop, roast and light sweetness to the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather average with a carbonation level that is a bit below average. The mix of the two are rather appropriate for the style and make of a smooth tasting brew.
Overall – A fairly easy drinking and balanced porter. Good for a go.

12 oz bottle from Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh. Nearly perfect. Smooth and creamy, with just the right amount of sweetness. Just a hint of bitterness on the finish.

Bottle via me. High five to myself! Pours a very dark brown with a scant tan head that fades to a lacing within a minute or two. Aromas of coffee, roasted barley and dirty Englishman returning home after fishing the wharf all day. Those blimey biscuit eating bilge rats! Taste is semi sweet with a bitterness derived from the roast, not the hops. Flavors of dark cock sauce, coffee, dirty english man-ass. Really relaxing and enjoying. Plenty of flavor packed into this little brew. Roast, coffee, caramel, circumcised english cock. Pretty nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This pours almost opaque Mahogany with the deepest of walnut fringes. The head fully diminishes, leaving a thin ring of suds down the glass and trace lacing. The nose is of chocolate and coffee, slightly roasted. Sweet dark malt upfront, dark chocolate and some grains hitting the mid-palate, and finishing clean with a perfectly balanced bittering hop. The medium–full body goes down very smoothly, with a round mouthfeel and slick down the palate. Great complexity and substance in a highly drinkable porter. Very nice!
