3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Best by 03/21/15
This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing sticking and then sliding down into the beer.
The smell started off with some sweet to roasty coffee to cocoa. Light dark sweet fruitiness rounds it all out.
The taste was mainly sweet with a big underscore of the bitter to roasty on the aftertaste and leading into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light allowing a decent stickiness all around.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good English Porter that I would have again.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cola colored beer with a late forming small beige head. Rich nose of cocoa powder, sarsaparilla, and brown sugar. Flavor is a pleasant mix of unsweetened bitter chocolate, molasses, and lightly charred bread. A good blend of sweet and bitter, this is a solid porter.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle poured. Pours brown with a lasting fizz head. Grainy, roasted malt aroma. Flavor is a big chocolate kick up front, with some toast, and a sweet background. Subtle hops come in late. Very tasty, balanced porter. I’ll totally drink this again.

Pours a dark red-brown with a very quickly dissipating light tan head. Roasted malt and nutty aromas. Smooth, full mouthfeel. Roasted malt, some coffee, and a bit of a nutty quality in the flavors.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep brownish black from the bottle with dissipating tan head that leaves light lace. Aroma of slight roast and dark chocolate, muted but nice. Taste follows, earthy back end and a mild bitterness. Well done porter, soft carbonation, great for the style, but nothing exciting.
