3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is very choclately, with light coffee, dark chocolate, bit of espresso. Body is black with a cream colored head. Taste is slightly watery, but nice and sweet with milk chocolate, black patent, and a very light hop accent.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Nice foamy head which dissipated after a few minutes. Not particularly aromatic upon opening, yet nice on nose after pour. Not as dark as some other porters that I like (Edmund Fitzgerald to name one), but very malty, roasty, and tasty. A little thin on the palate, but makes up thinness in tastiness. I like this porter, and would consider it as my second (a distant second) to the EF. I will definitely by again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice opaque black body, think tan foamy head. The head disappears very quickly. The aroma malty, chocalety and nutty. A very hoppy porter, there are hints of chocalte, and the roast is very noticable. The finish lingers a bit, but no real after taste. The Malt could be stronger. not a bad beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear, orangey brown with a creamy, off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt. Surprisingly light-bodied with notes of roasted malt - hard roasted - and then a typical ashy edge. Dry finish. 220406

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Sweet malty aroma like most porters. Black body but held to light a deep red. Small tan head that disipated quickly. Thin body texture with sweet flavor up front and choclate chalky flavor in the finish. Not a bad brew overall.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep burgundy pour with no head. Aroma is fainly roasty and wet though too restrained. A bit thin in the mouth, with the taste being too sweet and not at all roasty enough. Slightly oxidized.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled on 10/5/05. Poured a medium burgundy/cola brown with a 1" cap of caramelly-beige head. Nose picked up quite a bit of lightly-roasted chocolate malt and mousse... but there was something going on that wasn’t too enjoyable. Flavor was of pretty much the same stuff... sweeter, roasty chocolate malts, some caramel, floral hoppage, and unidentified candy-like sweetness. Smooth, but not memorable on the palate. Roasty chocolate and the faintest bitterness at the finish. Just OK.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Black with a small tan head. Average for a porter in many ways ... no great intensity or complexity, but drinkable balance of chocolate malts and sweetness, with classic British hops to provide some ibtterness.
