COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

Iím afraid Iím not as impressed with this porter as my brothers-in-brew. Pretty average, nothing distinguishing, good or bad.

Three words: not black enough! I understand its maybe designed to be a smooth-drinking porter, but I just expect all stouts & porters to be about as dark as a beer can get, visibly speaking. Flavors are nice, smells good as well, with roasty notes, yet little or no smoky characteristics sometimes found in this variety.

Clear ruby brown with khaki head. Dark chocolate, cocoa, mild coffer and a hint of licorice all stand out. Medium body. Semi sweet. Mild roast. No bitterness. Very good.

Keg @ Victorian Craft Beer Cafe, Halifax. Dark amber-brown with a very thin head. Has a light but decent roasted malt aroma and taste with a hint of chocolate in the latter aspect. Very easy drinking for its strength and thereís a fair dark malt sweetness evident throughout its character.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is creamy caramel malt. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter with a sweet malty chocolate caramel liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2015 Nose has a surprising amount of licorice, along with bitter cacao, coffee, and nutty malt. The licorice turns to balancing aromatic hop on the palate, along with plenty of cocoa, some coffee, and nutty and roasty malts. Nice hopping (earthy and mellow from the Kent Goldings) along with the carbonation provides an easy mouthfeel and drinkability that makes me want to drink more than one of this dark beer. A solid porter.

Clear, reddish-brown beer, no lacing, big head fades off, pleasant warm alcoholic malty smell. Aftertaste isnít wonderful, a little too effervescent. Good mouthfeel, nice taste, nutty for a porter, not too alcoholic taste, malty, good overall.

12 oz bottle to glass, average light tan head that rapidly deminished. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate with a touch of hops.Very thin chocolate cola flavor that quickly left. Just not a very good porter.
