COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

I’m afraid I’m not as impressed with this porter as my brothers-in-brew. Pretty average, nothing distinguishing, good or bad.

Pours amber with small head. Aroma: dark chocolate, cocoa, some espresso. Taste: again dark chocolate and cocoa in the first place, followed by espresso, roasted malt and some hops in the palate. For me this is a perfect example of a super drinkable US porter. You immediately want to take another sip. Aroma and taste kill with their intensity, at the same time is is super drinkable, not too high carbonation and well hidden ABV. Fantastic porter I could drink all year long, not just in autumn and winter! P.s. I kept it for almost a year in my cellar. Not sure how a fresh one tastes but this one was awesome.

Old rating. Bottle from Old Town. Deep brown with ruby highlights with a quickly dissipating tan head. Milk chocolate, coffee and roasted malts on the nose. Oily mouthfeel with a medium body. Sweet on the palate with caramel an dark fruit present as well as the chocolate and coffee aromas. Smooth finish and slightly warming on the finish.

Pours a deep amber colour, not quite as dark as some porters, minimal head. Aroma is sweet malt, chocolate, coffee and some berry type fruit. Taste initially rather sweet but is quickly balanced by a toasted dry bitterness, which isn’t over powering. Smooth and nice, a good porter.

Bottle, shared with Parksy. Oddly more golden amber than dark brown. Milk chocolate, caramel, mildly hoppy finish. Not a very good porter, surprisingly.

Choc and roasted barley aroma in this clear deep brown brew. Choc flavor thru out the whole drink kinda crisp up front and a slight alcohol burn or taste on the back end. It's medium bodied and easy to drink. Not a bad brew.

330ml bottled. Aroma is coffee, malt, light caramel, a bit hops. Appearance is dark, red, brown. Brown-ish head. Taste is light sweet, light bitter. Almost no carbonation. A bit dry. Good.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Taste roasted malt, chocolate, sweet. I thought this was good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A good all-around porter. Not too heavy, not too strong. Has a dark brown-near black color. Tastes of malts, slight coffee, bits of caramel. Good carbonation and head. One of my favorite "budget saver" porters out there.

Bottle from Rudat in Dortmund. The beer has got a deep black colour with an airy but steady head and medium body. Aroma of malt and roast. Taste of roasted malt, torf, dark bread, stroong coffee, leather and earth. Dry and roasty finish. Easy drinkable and solid in its style, yet nothing very spectacular.
