COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

A delicious porter, very dark, with a medium head. The caramelized malt aroma and taste are the distinguishing factors. The malt overpowers the hops, which I like. Excellent porter taste.

Clear, reddish-brown beer, no lacing, big head fades off, pleasant warm alcoholic malty smell. Aftertaste isn’t wonderful, a little too effervescent. Good mouthfeel, nice taste, nutty for a porter, not too alcoholic taste, malty, good overall.

12 oz bottle to glass, average light tan head that rapidly deminished. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate with a touch of hops.Very thin chocolate cola flavor that quickly left. Just not a very good porter.

Bottle. Clear brown with a thin beige head that lasts in a ring. Aromas of roasted malt, chocolate, toasted nuts, and light caramel. Flavor is roasted malt, caramel, nuts, light dark fruit and coffee notes. Light plus bodied, smooth, lightly carbonated with a dry finish.

Black brew with small head that dies fast. At first sniff thought it was root beer. Has a slight chocolate aroma but does have a root beer thing going on. Taste is chocolate malts and a hop dry bitterness, and then there is the root beer thing again. Its not bad but not the best porter out there. From my own personal notes I had this one back in 2011 and thought pretty much the same of it back then too. Maybe I will try it again in another three or so years.

Pours brown with tan head. Mild aroma of roast malt. Opens somewhat flat and simple, almost sweet. Some maltiness and mild hop flavor. Slightly toasty. Warming finish with lingering astringency and some bread and coffee notes. Thin mouthfeel. Overall, this beer is underwhelming, with a somewhat unpleasant finish.

Bottle from deeside drinks. Pours a black with a beige head that fades quite quickly. Aromas of chocolate, slight treacle with a slight smokey wood. Flavour of sweet liqurice, malty bread and a chocolate. Quite nice.

Bottle at home. Dark brown with no head. Lovely chocolate malt taste. Roasty malt character. Enjoyable.
