COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

Very dark reddish-brown brew with a quickly disappearing white head. Wonderful aroma of chocolate, coffee, and cream. Medium mouthfeel that leads to a nice crisp taste. The chocolate and coffee are evident along with some malt. Finishes clean and hoppy. A good porter.

On tap at Quarry House Tavern in Silver Spring, MD. Clear, dark raspberry-mahogany with a creamy khaki head and excellent lacing. Aroma of toffee, milk chocolate and a little roasted coffee. Taste of roasted English malt, milk chocolate, a bit of coffee Andy just enough mild earthy hops to give the beer a modicum of balance. Medium/full body and medium/high carbonation. Nothing special here, but the beer grows on you as it warms. A nice beer to nurse as I wait for my check. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle from one stop. Iíd swear Iíve had this, and definitely it has been a late cut in the bottle shop many a time. Dark clear reddish beer. Chocolatey. Sweet. This followed up a much better stone porter but it held up better than I expected.Roasted toasted notes in the nose and palate. Dry hoppish ending. Iíd get this again.

OK. Perhaps this one doesnít hold up under cask. Some light roast malt. Dark brown pour. Very light coffee with a light bitter finish. I had the dry-hopped cask version but hops arenít evident. Cask at Church key.
