Commercial Description:
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

Good brew, very dark color, thin head that i keeps, fairly tight but some big bubbles. Very nice lacing. Nice roasted malt odor, semi sweet. Coffeeish taste, distinct coffee aftertaste. Nice carbonation level and the roasted malts are obviously a major presence. Reminded me of burnt chocolate milk. Great cold weather brew.

Bottle. Chocolate, caramel, coffee, fruit. Nice and long aftertaste. A little thin, but quite good.

Bottle. Pours dark brownish ruby with a bubbly tan head that quickly shrinks to a ring around the top. Aroma is slightly sweet with notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and a little bit of spice. Flavour is sweeter but otherwise pretty much the same as the aroma. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation and a medium to long finish that starts bitter and becomes sweeter. Overall a pretty good porter although it is a little on the sweet side, but very drinkable all the same.

Dark pour from bottle. Chocolate, roasted coffee taste with a smooth finish. Another solid effort from LHBC.

$10 / 6er- Wow, little surprised with this one. I’m definitely going against the grain here and rating this much better than average. Nice sweet / bitter balance with good mouth feel.

Petrol Station beer dinner with Left Hand. Pours a dark brownish black with no head. On cask. Nose of chocolate, hops, toffee and mocha. Flavor is the same, with a soft, smooth finish and lingering flavor.

Bottle - Pours brown and clear with a huge cream-colored head. Smells of chocolate with a touch of whiskey, cinnamon, and a touch of booze. Taste is bitter malt and a bit of sour, with caramel and some breadiness. Also a touch of whiskey booze on the finish. It’s a bit watery and thin, but still glass-coating. Weird. Solid brew, but nothing special.
