Very nice lacing. Nice roasted malt odor, semi sweet. Coffeeish taste, distinct coffee aftertaste. Nice carbonation level and the roasted malts are obviously a major presence. Reminded me of burnt chocolate milk. Great cold weather brew.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 30, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark brownish ruby with a bubbly tan head that quickly shrinks to a ring around the top. Aroma is slightly sweet with notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and a little bit of spice. Flavour is sweeter but otherwise pretty much the same as the aroma. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation and a medium to long finish that starts bitter and becomes sweeter. Overall a pretty good porter although it is a little on the sweet side, but very drinkable all the same. Toxygen (413), Sanford, Florida, USA

I’m definitely going against the grain here and rating this much better than average. Nice sweet / bitter balance with good mouth feel. Zinister (1206), Houston, Texas, USA

Nose of chocolate, hops, toffee and mocha. Flavor is the same, with a soft, smooth finish and lingering flavor. madvike (361), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Bottle - Pours brown and clear with a huge cream-colored head. Smells of chocolate with a touch of whiskey, cinnamon, and a touch of booze. Taste is bitter malt and a bit of sour, with caramel and some breadiness. Also a touch of whiskey booze on the finish. It’s a bit watery and thin, but still glass-coating. Weird. Solid brew, but nothing special.
