COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

Dark brownish-copper body, topped by a nice decent foamy head that collapses in a hurry. The aroma is medium roasted malt and light citurs. The flavor is ok, but does not really flow well, each stage kind of floats around making itself known and not much else. Roasted malt, light sweetness and light hops. The finish is a hit of burnt bitterness. The body is light and slimy. Not one of the better porters I have had.

Pours a very dark, clear, brown with a light mocha head. It has an even roast, chocolate aroma. The taste is also equal parts sweet and bitter. The body is surprisingly light with a thin texture. I’ve never been a big fan of porters, but this one seems even less enjoyable than others.

On tap at Taco Mac. Dark walnut with reddish tint, clear. Tan cap, minimal lacing. Chocolate and roast in the aroma. Roast and chocolate dominate the taste as well; also some vanilla notes and some hoppiness. Fairly easy drinking, somewhat dry finish. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. Overall, a good but not great porter.

bottle at 24uurs of maastricht. it’s a nice porter, but not a keeper. bit to much chocolate, which makes it verry sweet.

Bottle. Pours in dark body with ruby edges against the light. The aroma has chocolate upfront with some honey sweet combined with dark fruits, like raisons, fig. The taste has roasty, almost smoky character with medium bitter support. Dry and clean after taste. The body is watery, think with low carbonation.

Not really like a porter i’m used to. Usually they are strong dark flavored. But this one is the first one you can actually see through. It’s more like a hazy amber beer then a porter. This comes back in the taste. It’s very easy going, light and almost refreshing. Not the big flavor profile like most other porters, but it does taste nice. It’s very caramel based. Not much bitter like most porters are (coffee) but well balanced and tasteful.

A simple, hoppy dark beer with a hoppy after-taste. An average beer, not bad, a little good.

Bottle. Pours brown with tan head. Foam settles in minutes with minimal lacing. Aroma is sweet, vanilla, with a dark, roasted malt background, chocolate and coffee hints. Flavor is roasted, dark malt, coffee, vanilla, caramel and a mildly chocolatey, very slightly boozy finish. Really like the malts in this beer. Soft to moderate carbonation, surprisingly light body, crisp texture, and slightly smooth finish. Used to avoid this beer when I was younger, but after revisiting it, I must admit it is well done. A sweet, mildly roasted porter, quite enjoyable.

Very average porter. Has all the ingredients that make a good Porter but is very flat in taste.

Pours an amber brown beer with a good white head. Smells like coffee and choco. Taste is weak. Especially the palate. Weak body.
