Commercial Description:
Our latest offering attempts to address an old saying that has plagued mankind since its inception. Many times we've heard, "more is not always better". Invariably the person on the receiving end of such a statement scowls at the ramifications. Here at Left Hand we realize that life cannot be reduced to or understood in absolute terms. Our latest addition to our lineup attempts to take exception with such broad statements about the human condition. Chainsaw is a connoisseur version of our award-winning Sawtooth Ale, designed to befuddle silly generalizations about life. We hope you enjoy!

Bottle. Pours dark copper with a small beige head and FULL OF SEDIMENT! Any unfilterd beer in my book is worth drinking for that reason alone. This beer gives you all kinds of reasons to drink it. Nice aroma of sweet malted barley and hops. Thick and creamy palate. Flavor starts out malty with a sweet middle and a hop finish. This a realy fine ale!

2008 bottle. Pours a murky, copperish-crimson color with an average, creamy, beige head with decent longevity and some nice lace. Nose is light notes of black cherry, hop notes of resin and light grapefruit, yeast notes of sweet bread, almond, lots of rich caramels, and a hint at spicy alcohol. Flavor is much of the same lots of rich caramels, black cherry, light almonds, faint sweet breadslight grapefruit, and woodsy resins lending a nearly medium bitterness. Palate is nearly full, creamy and velvety, and soft with just a touch of dryness. Finishes with just a bit of dryness from the woodsy resins, still plenty of caramels, and hints at the cherry notes and almonds. Somewhat surprising from this brewery but a well put together beer with good balance and a deceptive ABV. A simple, but rich, malt backbone matched with a great palate makes for a solid ASA. A pleasant surprise.

Bottled. Cloudy, dark amber. Medium off-white head. Menthol, chocolate and cheese in the aroma. Thick and oily. Flavour from a lot of sweet, dired fruits and also some licorice.

Bottle@home...night before traveling to the states and the acbf! Apperance: Murky brownish with a beige, creamy, lace. Aroma: Cocoa, Dark fruit, Plums, Caramel and some hops. Flavor: Caramel, Toast, Tropical fruits, Citric notes and a hint of mint(!) Palate: Initial taste is quite sweet but the hops kick in at the end and provided some nice bitterness. Quite a balanced brew. Carbonation is low. A very tasty brew from Left Hand that i’ll be coming back to for sure. One of the best beers from this brewery and hence is recommended!

Bottled. Murky brown colour. Chocolate and hops dominate the aroma, followed up by menthol. Chocolatey, bit cheesy flavour, with notes of menthol here as well. Little peppery alcohol touch and almost oily mouthfeel. The chocolate is there from start to finish. Medium bitterness in a medium to big body.

Copper colored brew with a thin head. Aromas of a good deal of toasted caramel malts as well as a good amount of floral and piney hops. Sweet and malty up front with lots of toast and caramel, a little fruity too, followed by a bright floral and piney hop profile that is very nice. Alcohol then comes through big and kind of ruined it for me, as I thought it detracted from the nice flavors. Drank well, as the body was nice and the mouth feel was smooth and creamy, until the alcohol hit.
