Commercial Description:
Our latest offering attempts to address an old saying that has plagued mankind since its inception. Many times we've heard, "more is not always better". Invariably the person on the receiving end of such a statement scowls at the ramifications. Here at Left Hand we realize that life cannot be reduced to or understood in absolute terms. Our latest addition to our lineup attempts to take exception with such broad statements about the human condition. Chainsaw is a connoisseur version of our award-winning Sawtooth Ale, designed to befuddle silly generalizations about life. We hope you enjoy!

Cloudy deep amber with a small, fleeting white head. Malt, piney hops, alcohol in the nose. Full feeling in the mouth. The flavor was a clash of bitterness and sweetness that was distracting. Still, not a bad beer.

Aroma is sweet with a faint oak scent. Color is a deep hazy orange brown with mild carbonation and a thin but tight off white head. Taste is bright, hoppy and sweet. Starting with a medium body it goes down crisp with a sweet feel. finish comes on with a mellow sweetness that seems to have a fruity taste, this is followed by a mild hop citrus, maybe hints of orange and ends with a little bitter bite. In the after taste the bitterness builds a little, this balances out the sweet and leaves you with a clean feel. Excellent brew, its bright and bold but leaves you clean making it very easy to drink.

Pour is a nice looking dark red with a large tan head. Aroma is lots of caramel malt with some fruit and a nice wet hop. Flavor is a fresh blast of citrus with some caramel and toffee malts. Aftertaste leaves a nice hop resin on the tounge that lasts for awhile. No alcohol is to be found in this delightful beer. A little pricey but this is a damn fine beer.

750 ml from Liquor Outlet. Lightly hazy amber in color with a lasting off white head. Aroma: toasty caramel malt and molasses with a moderate amount of citrus and earthy hops. Taste is caramel, toasted malts, medium to big body with citrus and earthy hops. Bitterness is moderate, very well balanced ASA, nicely done.

05 bottle shared by mmtmatrix. Poured an amber-copper color with a thick beige head. Aroma of light malts, slight citrus, and some spicy undertones. Flavor of smooth, light caramel malts with a good, spicy hop finish with light citrus undertones. Hops were still pretty strong considering it was at least 2 years old. Mildly thick, smooth on the palate. No sign of alcohol, but it seemed to hold up quite well. Better than I was anticipating.

Dark and thoroughly hazed, is this, near mahogany, maybe ruddy chestnut...underneath a thick slab of light tannish head...looking nice! Aroma: surprisingly simplistic, I’m not getting much from it. (clears his nasal passage)...ah, there we go! Big time fruit, very much a bonafied boufante bitter, this guy, oversized, spilling hops and fruity associations...cherries, grapes, apples, even...I like it! A big-boned ESB, so far, and that I do appreciate. Taste: Mmmm! Big fat hops all over the palate, big fruit, and plenty of bitter, and lots of lush malt, as well. Lots of bigness going on in here. Sweetness tickles the tongue and bitterness smacks it up. But, a double ESB, racking in at 9%...? Hoo-daddy! This is a massive ale in a massive package which I may have saved for a night of sharing with friends, but, screw them, and hurray me! I’m enjoying it, and luxuriating in it...and, goldarnit, I deserve it! Cheers to Lefthand for making this...I found it in the least likely store, for some reason, but I’m glad I tracked it down.

750 ml bottle. Pours a dark muddy brown orange with a medium sized creamy beige head. Lots of lacing. Unfiltered. Tangy aroma with hints of fruit roll ups, orange peel and caramel. Taste is of tangy orange peel, caramel, toffee and hops. Very good.
