Spots of soapy lace. Nasals of chocolate, caramel, orange, apple, grape and oak. Flavors of caramel, orange, oak, apple and chocolate, with some additional resin and smoky black pepper on the finish. Slightly larger than medium body is lightly carbonated, has a touch of warming and finishes oak-resiny dry. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 3, 2006 LoSBD offering from Cornfield. General sensation of murkiness...I could not, for the life of me, figure out what style beer this was. Certainly hopped up enough for an IPA/IIPA...but also very malt-heavy and really sweet and chewy. Alcohol burn seems to try and sort out the disagreement between predominant flavors but then gives up and descends into a simple burn in the finish. OK, but I really don’t need to repeat this one. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 2, 2007 A delicious American strong and a great departure from what the style typically is. Pour was a beautiful murky brown with a one finger white head. Aroma of sticky floral hops with some roasted malt. The taste was nice and deep. Roasted malt with caramel and a smokey undertone. The hops come out in the finish and help with the dry finish which is kind of iced teaish. I am used to American strongs being ridiculously hoppy and hot. This hid the alcohol perfect and made you want more. Well done! mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 18, 2009 Pours a copper amber, with a small off tan head. Smells of sweet caramel malts, with decent doses of hops. Nothing special, but nothing bad here. The flavor was a little dry and mellowed, but the hops were still there to give it a little life. Some caramel malts show up just in time in the finish to balance it out a bit, but overall I wasnt impressed with the flavors in this brew. Just kind of dreary and boring. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 3, 2006 Dark copper color, with immense froth. Dull, underwhelming aroma. However, fairly nice flavor balance, with rich malt and hop flavors abound. Smooth, creamy body, with well hidden alcohol. thegreenrooster (1853), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 4, 2008 Pour is a nice looking dark red with a large tan head. Aroma is lots of caramel malt with some fruit and a nice wet hop. Flavor is a fresh blast of citrus with some caramel and toffee malts. Aftertaste leaves a nice hop resin on the tounge that lasts for awhile. No alcohol is to be found in this delightful beer. A little pricey but this is a damn fine beer.
