RSRIZZO (942), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Apr 20, 2008 Aroma is sweet with a faint oak scent. Color is a deep hazy orange brown with mild carbonation and a thin but tight off white head. Taste is bright, hoppy and sweet. Starting with a medium body it goes down crisp with a sweet feel. finish comes on with a mellow sweetness that seems to have a fruity taste, this is followed by a mild hop citrus, maybe hints of orange and ends with a little bitter bite. In the after taste the bitterness builds a little, this balances out the sweet and leaves you with a clean feel. Excellent brew, its bright and bold but leaves you clean making it very easy to drink.
Indra (1810), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Jul 8, 2008 750ml, bottled 2008. Toasty, sweet malts in the aroma, fruity and sugary, with hints of cake, pineapple and caramel, also some faint orange and pine. Clear deep russet in color, developing a billowy, lasting head of ivory. Flavor is darkly sweet and malty to start, some caramel and toffee, turning hoppier and citric, and increasing in bitterness towards the lasting, fairly well balanced finish. Shows a bit of sweet, dried apricot and raisin character late. Mouthfeel is thick and smooth, body is surprisingly full. Shows some noticeable alcohol at the end as it warms. Enjoyable. gipsonc79 (5), , Missouri, USA does not count Jul 7, 2008 Can’t find anything bad to say about this one. Very malty and slightly warming. Truly an enjoyable beer. wickedpete (514), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA Jul 6, 2008 Thanks to Aaron for this one. Brown body, white-beige head. Aroma of brown sugar and faintly of hops. Flavor has a nice bitterness and a sweet caramel backbone. yespr (5405), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 6, 2008 RBESG2008: 22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy brown with a slowly collapsing tan head. Light liqourice and woody hops aroma. Flavour is light roasted malt to a breadish base. Holds a nice level of bitternes with a mild fruity note. Ends smooth malty and hoppy dry. Naven (682), San Diego, California, USA Jul 5, 2008 Bottle from Jimbowood. I will go on record and say I am not a fan of super malty beers. This was just that. Deep, rich copper color. Nose is caramel, molasses, and the slightest aroma of citrus hops. Flavor is super malty. Very light hop flavor. Way too rich and malty for my tastes.
