COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Many times we’ve heard, more is not always better. Chainsaw is a connoisseur version of our award-winning Sawtooth Ale, designed to befuddle silly generalizations about life. This Double ESB pours a brilliant deep ruby amber with a rocky near white head. The nose opens with bright spicy and herbal hops, with hints of dried fruit and port. The flavor starts with a chewy, bready malt and hints of brulee and kola nut that are suddenly swept away by thyme-like and hoppy bitterness. The strong herbal flavors then give way to a dry finish of licorice, gentian, and Italian bitters. We hope you enjoy!

On tap at Tap and Mallet. Met expectations, in that it had a bit more bite than a barley. nose dominated by dark fruit. Palate is full of fruity, brandy and caramel. Appearance is amber with a reddish hue. Neutral finish.

650ml bottle, pours clear amber with a small head. Aroma is rich with caramel, bready malt, dried fruit, almond, currants. This is a double ESB and English hop flavours and malt textures are wel in evidence, it’s very impressive how balanced this is, ESA’s at similar stength can be sweet and sticky and, for me, hard to digest, this is sweet but well balanced. Not the kind of beer I go crazy for but for what it is, it’s done very well.

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Lightly hazy amber. Thin, off white head. Jammy and bready. Light toffee. Some dried fruit. Taste is toffee sweet, with fruity dryness. Soft chew on the palate. Soft carbonation, too. The booze is well hidden. Light, lingering, orange zest bitter finish. Very decent.

Another dipass CoLOLorado rew. Tevs. Bomber. Pours a light brown with a light tan head. Aromas of cardboard and sweaty neckbeards. Taste is sweet and lightly bitter. Flavors of wet paper, toffee, bread. Finishes on a note of garbage. No wonder people leave this state and go searching all over Germany for rare lagers. FFS.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2014 Sampled on draft at The Headkeeper this beer poured a dark nut brown color with a large foamy tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was somewhat faint with bitter fruity hops, grapefruit and a bit of caramel. The flavor was caramel, wood, bitter fruits, grapefruits, beech and cedar. Long woody and grapefruit finish. Moderately full bodied. Ok.

on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Hazy dark amber, bubbly rim head, dots of lace. Taste is bitter malt that bends a little toward sweet in the palate, before adding alcohol and bittering to finish. Like a Barleywine, but less sweet. Dangerously drinkable.

On tap @ Blacksburg Taphouse. Served in snifter. Pours a mahogany color with minimal head (glass nearly completely full with beer to rim). Head is khaki colored. Aroma - malty, caramel, citrus and some resin. Taste is initially dominated by malt, then resiny hops come in, leading to a long finish where the hops slowly fade leaving a bit of malt/caramel and a touch of an alcohol burn. Mouth feel is a bit oily.

From a bomber. Pours a medium amber and makes a white head. Some lacing. Not a strong aroma, but a bit of hops and dark fruit. Tastes like an ESB with a bit of malt and a bit of hops. I like this beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
