2013 & 2010 Gold Medal Winner at the Great American Beer Festival in the Foreign Stout category.

That time of year when the day seems to fade away. Drifting further into the darkness with each passing day. Volume 1 - Foreign Stout - Pours black with licorice, espresso bean, molasses, and black cardamom notes that give way to a feeling of self loathing, burnt opportunities and smoked relationships.

Definitely a solid performer, but didn't taste the favors that were touted in the deScription, and wasn't as smooth as I expected ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Le Petit in Shimokita. Pours a black to deep brown with a finger of beige foam that lingers. Big roasted malt aroma with some peppery hops, cacao, espresso and some toasted caramel. Roasted sweet notes on the palate. Good carbonation with good roasty, hoppy bitterness. Almost like a big, bold black IPA. Nice bitter espresso notes that linger on the finish. Tasty.

Decent, but not THAT good. Quite standard.
Black color with a beige layer on top. Some lacing. Ok intensity in the aroma. Solid body and a soft carbonation. A fine bitterness to balance up the sweetness. Dark malt, chocolate, coffee and some earth.

Off the top of my head I’m thinking this is probably the best offering I’ve enjoyed from Left Hand Brewing! I would gold star it. I am happy with everything about this one...I will be drinking more of it for sure! Wonderful strong espresso with perfect sweetness.

Fra fat på Cafe Sara. Svart. Lavt skum med litt farge. Daler sakte og etterlater tett lacing. Behagelig sjokoladearoma. Innslag av kaffe. Oljeaktig munnfølelse. Smaken Innholdsrik. Litt røyk. Kaffe. Lakris. Avslutninga er tørr kaffe med en syrlig vri.
