4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Smooth and creamy, but still light on the palate, with well integrated smokey flavors. Lingering bitter malt and smoke finish. Compare this to other baltic porters (best ever!), rather than other smoked beers (too broad.) I do taste a good dose of dark fruitiness - burnt prune - not appropriate for the style, but it tastes great, so screw "style."

Porter complessa e intrigante, con note di cioccolato, espresso, malti tostati, una leggera sfumatura di frutta scura secca e un amaro finale, esaltato nel finale piuttosto secco. Veramente esntusiasmante!

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Beautiful pour. Beer is almost black but picks up just enough light for highlights. Very thin tan head on top, but has great lacing in the glass. On the nose is fresh baked dark German bread with wisps of peat smoke drifting through it. Very deep and roasty. Like the aroma, dark bread hits the tounge first washing down the middle. Roasted coffee bitterness grabs the sides of the tounge. The beer is thick and chewy on the palate, coating the tounge in a malty wash. Light bubbles of carbonation push the breadness back to end in a smoky finnish. Peat smoke lingers after the swallow.
