Fade to Black, that time of year when the light seems to fade away. We drift further into the darkness with each passing day. Volume 2- Smoked Baltic Porter is inspired by our collaboration with Nørrebro in Denmark. This mischievous cousin to Smoke Jumper has a penchant for pillaging and burning everywhere he goes. Smoked malts redolent of the burned thatched roofs in villages and towns all over Northern Europe impart flavors to warm the spirit of invading hordes far from home. You finally have something in your hand darker than the winter night sky.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and wood as well as lighter notes of smoke. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt combined with medium notes of alcohol, which is felt on the palate too, as well as lighter notes of smoke, leading to a dry, roasted, and alcoholic finish.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours an opaque black with a light brown head. Sweet roasty vanillaish nose with a subtle touch of smoke. Sweet and slightly salty licorice accents. Medium body, sweet roast, vanilla and tar with a round and warming finish. Not a smoke beer, but a very well made Baltic Porter with a whiff of smoke. 280312

Bottle from Bier Koning. Solo hungover tasting in my hotel room! Very dark brown - black beer. Residual tan head. Mild carbonation in the light semi dry palate. Dark malt that it sweetish and with some molasses. Trace of smoke. A little fruit underneath. Finishes semi dry with some dark toffee - caramel. Interesting beer - intense dark flavours in a light palate.
