Pours jet black with thin brown head. Smells malty, like coffee and faint chocolate, and smoky. Tastes like smoked coffee, not too bitter, and faint sweetness. Full-bodied, smooth texture and faint mouth-carbonation, Left Hand Fade to Black (volume 2) finishes smooth and satisfying.

In a 12 oz. bottle. A great porter... but the name had me listening to metal all night, which annoyed my fiance. Smell is dark roasted malt, a bit of coffee. Taste had a dark chocolate/coffee thing going on for sure, not too fizzy. Thick, but not too heavy. I can’t wait to finish the rest of them.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 RasterMaster (257) - , Oklahoma, USA - JUL 3, 2011
Dark black-brown pour into thin tan head that quickly dissipates into a ring of swirling bubbles and fading lacing. Aroma of roasty chocolate malt and nuts. Initial flavor of dark chocolate, roasted caramel malt, and dark brewed coffee that fades into a bitter creamy finish.

Smoked Porter’s are always a good choice, so when I found this Smoked BALTIC Porter, I knew I was in for a treat. Great tasting beer. Thick, heavy, rich. This is their 2010 version of the Fade to Black series. Started with a Stout, and taking a step back to Porter. I am not complaining.

Rich fruit, blackcurrant, chocolate and licorice on the nose. Medium bodied, sweet, slight woodsmoke, coffee and gentle astringent finish. Good head retention.
