3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown. The aroma is mainly malty porter - chocolate and perhaps a little spice. Mellow, a tiny bit peppery and a chocolate fudge accent. The pepper mainly comes through in the aftertaste for me.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours very dark brown/black with a creamy/bubbly tan head. Aroma of chocolate with a definite chili accompaniment. Full bodied with foamy/creamy carb. Flavor is definitely chili with chocolate and maybe a bit of anise. Smoke fer sure. It’s all very smooth, and it finishes with chili heat on the tongue. Subtle compared to many chili ales.
