dark brown ( not total black) beer with a ’good ’ taste( nothing great there ) . the thing i like about it is that you do get the peppery feeling in your troat when you drink it, but the pepper taste doesnt ruin it all. very niceley brewed, but a bottle is to much . you could drink one completeley, but you’ll probabley onley enjoy it till halfway...

Bottled 330ml. -from Brewberry, Paris. Black coloured, small brown head that went away fast, pleasant chocolate nose. Roasted malt, dark chocolate and enjoyable peppery notes with hint of smoke near the end. Lingering peppery aftertaste. Really enjoyable brew for me but surprisingly also enjoyable for Maja who hates pepper, chili and similar "heavy" spices. Well timed malestone brew.

bottle. a nearly black beer with no head. lightly smoky nose with milk chocolate and lots of burnt toast. love the big burnt toast flavors in this one. pepper has only a small part here with a light peppery finish. fudgy with toast mostly. palate is medium with low carbonation. proudly continues the tradition of awesome FTB series dark beers!

Deep reddish brown with a very quickly fading tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, mild pepper and light chocolate. Taste is sweet and roasty with a nice spice backbone. Red pepper, licorice, light chocolate, mild smoke, sweet malt and a good mix/amount of spice. Finishes up sweet and spicy and reminds me of one of those acid cigars.

Bottle. Black color, brown head. Aroma of subtle black pepper. The taste is subtle enough in the taste that this is a very enjoyable beer.

really interesting porter, was a little nervous of the pepper dominating the flavor, but it actually really enhanced everything. was really good.

This beer was surprisingly delicious. Coming into it I thought the pepper would be overpowering but it just stings the tongue at the very end. Other than that, the chocolate power is overwhelming and utterly delightful.

Pours mahogany tinged black into a Sam glass. Mocha head with medium retention recedes leaving scant sheets to skim surface. Sweet milk chocolate and espresso aromas. Thin with upfront smoked pit fruit turning to chocolate before the lasting peppery resin finish.

12 ounce bottle - $1.89 at Olde Crabapple Bottle Shoppe in Alpharetta, Georgia. Bottled On: 09/22/11.
Appearance: Pours a very dark brown, near black body with a tall, light tan, spumy head. No more than a few pencil-prick dots of lace on the way down.
Smell: Already, I get a little sniff of the peppers emanating up from the glass as I pour. Forward notes of chiles, with the roasty, chocolate-scented malts coming in second. Light trace of smokiness, too.
Taste: Sweet, malty beginnings of chocolate bar, caramel, sweetened coffee, and toast. Very slight smokey character preceding a smooth albeit spicy chile quality with, thankfully, no more heat that needed. The hops, at best, add a light spicy hint to aid the peppers, but, for the most part, stay out of the way of the ’guest’ flavoring agent. Faint dark fruitiness. Malty, drying, lightly chile-accented finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Well-rounded, it’s note just a bland, no-thought beer with a gimmicky addition of chiles thrown in, but a fairly smooth, flavorful porter integrated with the heat-inducing peppers. Nice job.
