COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
That time of year when the light fades away. Brewed for the darkness, Fade to Black speaks in volumes. Welcome to Volume 4, the Beer pours pitch black with an off white head. Citrus (bergamot) and roast dominates the nose. Slight sweet malt gets pushed back by initial citrusy hops followed by powerful Italian Amaro, gentian and hop bitterness. Finishing with a pleasant duality of dry roasted malts and hop bitterness.

Bottle from wchesser, thanks Will. Aroma has notes of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and citrus hops. Black in the glass with and average off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lace. Flavor is medium sweet and very bitter. Palate is medium to full bodied and watery average. Overall a solid Black IPA.

On the fourth day of Christmas. Pours black with a medium white head. Aroma is roast, pine and some citrus. Taste is sweet with moderate bitters. Medium bodied with almost creamy texture, surprised by this.

12oz bottle poured into glass. A nice balance between the earthy hops and the dark bitter chocolate malt flavor. Roasty, slightly sweet, but still very easy to drink.

Black with a light brown head. Starts smooth then goes to a hops bite at the back palate then finishes smooth with a fairly light finish. Agreeable yet not that satisfying,

Bottle thanks to Dave. Shocking it pours out almost black.....with a nice brown head that fades rather quickly. Aroma is sweet chocolate, molasses, marshmallow, light roast and some mild citrus hop notes. From the aroma you couldn’t tell the taste was going to be as hoppy as it was. On to the taste...chocolate, roast, bitter citrus hops, light coffee grounds and a solid punch of dry bitterness on the finish.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2012 bottle. black under a large, whipped, brown head. lots of limey hop notes over a roasted base with milk chocolate. good quaffable palate for the style with low carbonation and silky texture. piney hops blend with roasted and milk chocolate notes without being too much.
