COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
That time of year when the light fades away. Brewed for the darkness, Fade to Black speaks in volumes. Welcome to Volume 4, the Beer pours pitch black with an off white head. Citrus (bergamot) and roast dominates the nose. Slight sweet malt gets pushed back by initial citrusy hops followed by powerful Italian Amaro, gentian and hop bitterness. Finishing with a pleasant duality of dry roasted malts and hop bitterness.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours very dark brown with a 3 finger creamy/foamy tan head. Aroma of mild citrus and darkly roasted malt. Near full bodied. Flavor is almost minty chocolate - must be the "powerful Italian" stuff. It is more dry than not, and it is bitter. It is a pleasant departure from the norm.

Not "pitch black’ like they say, more of a dark brown, especially so when in any amount of light. Big khaki head. Nose- roasted malts with some chocolate notes. Mouth feel is a bit thin. Nice hop bite at the end. Solid black IPA.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle to English pint glass. Pours black with deep red rim. Light brown head starts tall, almost completely diminishes but never goes away. As head diminishes it leaves good lacing down the glass. Good aroma of toasted chocolatey malt, with light nutty coffee undertones. Also piney hops with a bit of raisin. Starts with malty chocolatey flavor that then turns slightly bitter with pine and finishes dry. Mouthfeel is creamy with medium body, slightly carbonated and a finish of alcohol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
