Our beer is basically a pale ale brewed from a relative low gravity, with some of the hops which would normally be used in the beer replaced by freshly ground ginger root. The beer is light in body, lower in alcohol, has a distinct ginger aroma, and has a very crisp finish. It was initially brewed as a refreshing alternative to the plethora of wheat beers which are popular in the summertime. Popular demand turned it into a year round beer.

This was ok to try because of the ginger and all, especially if you like ginger soda or jamaican ginger beer...but it was nothing special for me. Pretty light on the alcohol content, so itís more of a "flavor" beer. Somewhat spicy from the ginger. A little hoppy like an american pale, but the balance was weighted a bit more on the sweet side. Pours a dark yellow-off orange color with a hint of red...sort of copper I guess. Not bad, but not great. Something to try for a change of pace.

Bottle from craft. Notes of caramel malt, ginger, spice and hop. Body was thin, but a decent representation of style.

Bottle from Sugaya. Ginger, citrus nose. Orange/amber color, thin head. Ginger, light pale malt, ginger again, and small bitterness in finish. Light bodt\y. Ginger, yes, but also some unidentifiable "ghost" spice notes. All too apparent in such a light beer. Okay, maybe as a summer juice slammer, but really not as refreshing as I suppose itís intended to be.

(Bottle). A clear and light golden-ginger complexion with minimal head. Faint ginger aroma. The ginger replaces the hops in a clean refreshing way. I like this concept. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I picked this one up because my girlfriend is a big-time fan of ginger. She actually likes it, which is a rarity - she is not a beer fan. Itís fairly watery, and doesnít have much malt character, but the ginger is quite pronounced. If youíre a fan of ginger, youíll like this I think, otherwise, itís not all that good. I am a fan of ginger, so I like it OK.

From bottle...pours into glass amber and light...citrusy aroma...refreshing. Good flavor, crisp and light, but you can definitely taste the ginger & the ginger is evident in the aftertaste too
