COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ingredients: Water; Malted barley; Ginger root; Hops; Yeast.
Our beer is basically a pale ale brewed from a relative low gravity, with some of the hops which would normally be used in the beer replaced by freshly ground ginger root. The beer is light in body, lower in alcohol, has a distinct ginger aroma, and has a very crisp finish. It was initially brewed as a refreshing alternative to the plethora of wheat beers which are popular in the summertime. Popular demand turned it into a year round beer.

The aroma is enticing - makes me feel like I am bellying up to a sushi bar with the Ginger. Dark golden appearance, light white head, good lacing. The ginger is prevalent and gets to be cloying after awhile. No other flavor is really present outside of the ginger. Sticky mouthfeel. This one had strong promise when it was first poured, but left me disapointed as I finished it.

Bottle. Pours yellow with white head. Smells very gingery. Tastes much more wheaty with a weird ginger finish. Bleh. No good.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with minimal head. Aroma is moderate ginger. Flavor is ginger up front with a very mild malt/grain finish. Mild ginger aftertaste that lingers but leaves your palate relatively cleansed. The gingers strengthens as it warms. Flavor is interesting and relatively unique but it’s definitely one dimensional. Soft to moderate carbonation. light body, and slightly watery texture. An interesting beer, though not as good as I remember.

Bottle. Clear orange pour with a thin white head. Lemon, grass, ginger and various other spices in the aroma. Interesting ginger flavor, as its not overwhelming. Unfortunately there is little else there. Average carbonation with a very light, watery texture. Definitely drinkable and refreshing but a little too light.

Bottle, this beer had a clear yellow-gold pour and made less than a one finger white head that deflated to a few island of bubbles and ring, the glass had a few bubbles flowing around, it left some spots of lacing on the sides of the glass, there was no sediment in the bottle, there were ginger spice aromas with faint malt and lemon in the background, it had flavors of ginger spice with little malt, the finish had a little bitterness with ginger that hung on a bit afterwards, the mouth feel was light with average carbonation, this drink had ginger spice with little else for aroma or flavor, it was ok.

A very interesting beer, I’d have one on a warm summer evening but no more than that. The ginger flavor is almost overwhelming, but "refreshing" is a very apt description of the Good Juju Ginger. Its color is very light, and it feels light in the mouth as well.

Draught. Clear amber with almost no head. Strong ginger smell. Duh. Pretty tame pale beneath. Liked but need s more kick.

A light see through tea colored pour. Aroma is deep ginger. Tastes like water seeped in ginger. Bland beer, and watery. No need for year round brewing for me, once was enough. Ugh, maybe try adding a little more ETOH next time. Quaff Score 5 / 10

Pours a copper orange with a white head and aroma of ginger and spices. Taste is heavy on ginger, with some spices, but watery and light, with a dry, gingery finish.

Bottle. Pours a red-orange with a thin off-white head. Aroma seems inspired by Asian-cuisine; ginger is evident, bread, yeast, citrus, some green tea. Taste is mostly bread with a ginger presence and some floral characteristics. Not complex, but the ginger makes it interesting and atypical. The problem I have is that there isn’t much else going on here. Sessionable, which is nice. But not very flavorful. which is aggravating, especially coming from a brewery that I respect as much as Left Hand. Light-bodied, light-flavored. Just to be clear, I would absolutely order this in a bar if they had nothing else. But this isn’t a chase beer of any kind; I wouldn’t buy it in store.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Hotel glass (half pint, half snifter) From: Wilbur’s Total Beverage in Fort Collins, Colo. Price: Part of a variety 6-pack for $9.99 Purchased: May 2, 2013 Consumed: May 2, 2013 Misc.: Best by Sept. 18, 2013 (I think, tough to read on bottle) Poured a copper orange clear color with 1-2 fingers of off-white head. Minimal lacing. Below average retention. Smelled cough drops, ginger and Lemon Drops. Felt like I was sick, but this is a good smell! Ginger dominates the taste, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. After ginger I still got cough drops, lemon and honey. Not ideal for a beer, but something different for sure. Felt like I was preventing myself from getting sick. Light body. Thin texture. Soft carbonation. Long, cough suppressant, watery finish. Probably the first Ginger-type beer I’ve tried, but I didn’t hate it. I’d probably try it again.
