Bomber from Beer Run. I didnít even realize this is a fundraiser project, so Iím glad to learn it is and that a relatively local brewery (Center of the Universe) participated. Pours a clear amber color with a large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of strong citrus notes, pale malts and mild wood. The taste is raw wood notes, pale malts, caramel, herbal, resin hops. Medium bodied, well balanced, lingering bitterness. Nice beer.

Sample at Luckyís in Dayton. Clear dark amber color with a medium thin fluffy off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, malt and fruit. Medium-bodied with flavors of earthy hops, malt and citrus. The finish is mildly bitter with a grassy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle @ home shared by LeninCat. Thanks Lenin! Pours a hazy dark orange appearance with a fluffy khaki head. Fairly herbal, doughy, biscuity, woody, a touch sweet aroma. Slightly oxidized, woody/herbal, cracker/doughy, light citrusy flavor. A bit old but not something I think Iíd like normally.

"An ok beer, but not up to the standards of the better IPAs out there, and there are many. I think a couple of the hop varieties used are english (not my favorite in this style). Dug the orange presence, though, so it was still a pretty good brew."

Bottle. Pours a clear deep amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has grass and a perfumey pine note with an earthy grain backbone. Flavor has earthy pine and a bit of grass backed by some earthy grains.

22oz bottle, from Dutchís. Nice biscuity malt, kind of toasty. Good citrusy hop, mildly peppery. Bottle says "Ale brewed with dried sweet orange peel", but I donít really pick up on much of that addition -- maybe just a touch of it in the finish. The bottle says nothing of any kind of wood aging either. Maybe this beer is a bit different this year. It does have a satisfying amount of hop, though, especially for the low ABV. Itís just drinking like a very satisfying, balanced, yet well-hopped IPA, at the moment. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Nice full feel. Mild slickness. Clear orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves good thicker reaches and rows of lace. Looks great. Moderate-plus bitter taste, light to moderate sweet. Very tasty, satisfying balanced IPA. Especially nice to swig down with my sandwich.
