Commercial Description:
Imperial Stout is a silky smooth, very flavorful black brew. It is a traditional style of strong stout originally brewed in Britain for export to St. Petersburg, Russia. The malty sweetness of the beer is tempered by a medley of roasted malt and the aggressive use of hops. A long conditioning time gives the brew time to mellow and mature. The beer is not filtered, allowing every subtlety and nuance to be enjoyed.

Pours nearly black with almost no head. Has a wonderful full chocolaty flavor with some coffee present as well. This is closely followed by a nice spicy finish that mellows out and lingers in your mouth. Very nice body, not too thick, but not to watery either. This is an excellent imperial stout.

Pours very dark brown, a little thin for the style, with a one finger light brown head, reduces to a ring that has some of the largest bubbles I’ve seen. Aroma is very chocolaty, lots of roasted malts, a bit smoky. Flavor is a lot of milk chocolate up front, dark fruits, molasses, roasted malts, rather sweet. Mouthfeel is thicker than the looks indicate, medium carbonation.

Grande imperial stout... mi è sempre piaciuta moltissimo sopratutto per il carattere corposo bilanciato da un amaro persistente

This beer was not as dark as I expected it to be, It was not black but a dark , dark brown. The smell reminded me of tootsie rolls and other chocolate. The taste was very heavy on the chocolate. For some reason this did not make me think Imperial Stout. It seemed to have porter and barleywine characteristics. In any case it was a very tasty beer and surprised me. Looks good, oops scent is very boozy. Taste is decent balance between sweet and bitter, smooth creamy fell. Decent but not something I will seek out.

Dark brown almost black. Clear. Has a light-brown head, mostly lasting. Aroma: cerials, dark malts, chocolate and perhaps coffee. Flavor starts heavy sweet and finish moderate bitter. Syrupy texture. Soft carbonation.
