Skeegle (277), USA Mar 8, 2008 Updated: May 13, 2008 Liked ’er. Very excellent aroma of hazelnut and sunflowerseeds. Beautiful. The beer is EXTREMELY light for an IS. It’s borderline brown ale color. This is the nuttiest IS I’ve ever had, it really tastes exactly like salty sunflowerseeds. That’s a great thing too by the way. It’s like salty choco-nuts. Really different and really great. I’m loving this beer the more I drink it. Think of pouring nesquick powder over a salted peanut shell and licking it off and you have he essence of this beer. Wow, I’ve really never had anything like this.
TrefwoordPunk (343), Leiden, Netherlands Jul 8, 2008 Bottle 35,5 cl. POurs pitch black with a small brown head and a sugary sweet aroma. THe flavor is mainly creamy sweet chocolate with a velvetty mouthfeel. The finish is a great bitter with lots of notes. a standard imperial stout with a great finish WeeHeavySD (1511), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jul 2, 2008 Bomber I’ve had for a while. I think I got this in Texas in December or it came from Trade. its unclear. Either way shared with my GF Cyn, for the final beer of the current night. Pours black with a nice 1 finger light brown head. Nose is chocolatly with sweet malt and a bit of roastiness. There is a crap load of chocolate in here, its close to chokolat but not anything close to as good as that. This is a pretty decent impy though. Taverner (405), San Ramon, California, USA Jun 28, 2008 Drinking liquid chocolate - yet there is no chocolate in this. You can’t taste alcohol a bit. Pours dark black with brown head that recedes, but leaves lacing all over. Creamy, smooth, and malty. PhillyBeer2112 (1805), Orange Park, Florida, USA Jun 25, 2008 Pours not quite opaque dark but shows brown at the edges, fairly translucent during the pour. Medium creamy head. Restrained chocolate aroma, mild roast, vaguely creamy. Sharp tannic huskiness right from the get go, followed by a bittersweet chocolate middle and more astringency at the finish. There also is a rich somewhat roasty espresso like twang throughout, but is more pronounced in the lingering aftertaste. This is the best part of the beer. basewars (29), New York, USA Jun 24, 2008 Pours black with smell of chocolate and fruits. The taste has some coffee up front but definite fruit in the back.
I really enjoyed it.
