Pours a deep mahogany with a nice khaki head. Aromas of some roasty toasty malts. coffee, and a bit of chocolate. Flavors are very much the same with the addition of rye and a supple amount of hops. Plate is pretty thin and could definitely take this brew to the next level.

The aroma is good with toasted malt, chocolate, hops, and rye. The appearance is red-brown with a nice head. The flavor is astringent and somewhat like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall it’s a little disappointing when it comes to flavor.

Pours black.
I have been looking forward to trying this one. It proved to be a very nice and original brew.
Aroma is roasted, mocha, coffee and definite rye presence.
Taste, beer is thick, with rye aftertaste. Malty and a nice light bitter hoppy finish with good presence of rye.
There is nothing bad to say about this beer. Taste is very unique, the mix of dark roastiness and grilled coupled with rye and hops make this beer one unique and enjoyable brew.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown, almost black with a medium tan head. Strong coffee malt smell. Crisp, just a tiny bit thicker than a typical lager. Tastes of coffee, sweet, light caramel malts, and rye. The pine hoppy, bitter taste picks up at the end, and complements the rye.
