Bottle. Dark amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is roasted, malt, caramel, alcohol. Flavour is hop, roasted, malt, caramel, alcohol, dried fruits. Full body. Nice beer.

Poured dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt, rye and nutty aroma. Medium to full body and a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
My expectations where met with a drinkable complex beer.

(22oz bottle) Small beige head atop clear dark brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, raisin, some chococoffee. Taste is medium sweet, raisin, earthy/tobacco, roasted/coffee, some caramel, rye. Smooth medium body, low carbonation, light acidity.

Bomber poured a clear dark brown with mahogany highlights and a small lasting tan head. Aromas of chocolate, spice, coffee, light fruittiness and a hiunt of vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, spice, light roastiness and light coffee with a smooth roasty moderatly bitter finish.

22 ounce bottle. Pours a thick looking clear dark red color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is chocolate, rye, anise. Taste is very nutty with sunflower, rye and bitter, spicy leafy hops. Full bodied.

Aroma: light roasted aroma, light earthyness
Flavor: big roasted malt flavor, touch of coffee from the roasted, lots of earthy character leaving behind bitterness, growing hint of caramel sweetness adds some balance to the roasted and earthyness, eventually the caramel sweetness grows until it takes over and provides perfect balance to the roasted
Aroma: 6/10; Appearance: 8/10; Flavor: 7/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 13/20

Bottle. Brown pour, small tan head. Sweet malts jump out quicky followed by some yeast, fruit and spices. The falvor is pretty good. Brown sugar, honey, milk chocolate and the smoothness is nice. Oakes says its from the Rye, so it must be!
