3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I’m stuffed. I just made a pizza, ate most of it (my wife ate two pieces), and now I’m sitting on the couch, grabbing my belly, and going: OOOOOOOOOH. I’m full. So I open the Left Hand I bought today. A couple six packs in the back of the grocery. The first shipment in this city and it’s not even on the shelves. It has the milk stout taste that Duck Rabbit has, only not as pronounced. Little bits of sweetness mixed in with the stout. Nice. It can make it through this belly...it can...

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 19, 2014 Bottle. Dark brown/mahogany, diminishing beige head. Smooth, rich coffee flavor; sweet with some offsetting roastiness. Creamy mouth feel. Cafe au lait? If Starbucks sold beer, this would be it.
Tried as Nitro: It’s not the same beer. Nitrogen softens the palate, but takes away a certain bite. Irish stouts are have a roastier bite to them, and CO2 would exacerbate that bitterness. For a sweeter stout, I think the CO2 would be better. As is, this needs an edge.
It appears they sell it both ways, so why does RB force them to be rated together?

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a nearly opaque dark brown with 2 cm of foamy tan head that is mostly diminishing. Aroma is sweet malt and smoke. Initial flavor is is chocolate and cream. Flavor ends more malty. After taste lingers for a short time. Light lacing, next to no carbonation, light to medium body, and alcohol didn’t really make its presence known. Very drinkable beer that pretty much follows what I expected.

Enough burnt malt to perfectly balance the lactose sweetness. Draught at Circa 4/3/08.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle that pours a typical dark brown color of a stout. Aroma was sharp and very sweet with no discernable hops. Taste was kind of pungent and exceedingly sweet, almost like a syrup. Palate was somewhat watery but moderately smooth. Overall not my favorite milk/sweet stout but not a bad beer.

Blind tasting at Papsoe’s. Hazy, dark brown colour with a nice little head. Aroma of malt, caramel, coffee, and some roastedness. Flavour of roastedness, coffee, and milk chocolate.
