COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout.

milky, thick and fun. a great stout to drink if you want some ice cream or a glass of milk. aroma is malty and sour, the sour being the milk. the taste isn’t exactly like milk but exactly what i expected, a milky follow up on malt. pour was dark and with about an inch of foam. gret beer to finsh off the nite at the pub.

I’m not a huge stout fan, but I will say this one is pretty tasty. The aroma is full of chocolate and coffee in the nose and the flavor is like a mellowed out drink from starbucks. Its real creamy. Like I said, I’m not huge on stouts but this one would be a repeat buy

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2008 355ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki , American Week 2007). BANG! Coffee. In spades - woh! And that’s before it’s reached your mouth. Once in the mouth you get it even more - with rich and dry stoutness.Possibly too ’’’’thin’’’’ in its stoutness, but that’s silly considering the enormous stout punch it gives you. And the colour is a beautifully deep red blackness.

Pours black with brown highlights around the edges, and has a thin, lasting, tan head. Aroma is very roasty with strong chocolate, coffee, and heavy cream notes. The body is medium--thinner than I’d like in a milk stout--but creamy. The flavour isn’t as complex as the aroma and is mostly grainy and chocolate with a hint of milk.

This beer pours a nice dark color to it with good head retention. There is a nice sweet milky smell to it. There is a good woody taste and very smooth and goes down easy.

A solid sweet stout-aroma of roasted malt, coffee. Flavor is coffee, dark chocolate, licorice and malt. Body seems a little light for a stout but otherwise tasty. Dark walnut color. A keeper.

First milk stout I’ve ever had. Black pour with light tan lasting head. Smelled of roasted malts. Flavor is dominated by malted milk, with some smokey chocolate. Not too complex but I strongly enjoyed.

Poured in a pint glass with a thin fizzy mocha colour head and dark brown body. Aroma is sweet, chocolate, and roasted malts. Medium Body. Initial taste is smokey, coffee, with a finishing of a sweet roastiness.Lasthing thin head minor lacing of the glass. High carbonation but compliments the beer which unnoticible is unless looked at closely.

The color was dark chocolate. The head was thin, fizzy, and medium beige. The aroma was sweet, roasty/smokey, and molasses. The flavor was very roasty, coffee, slightly waxy, and sweet malt. The palate was medium/thick bodied. The finish was roasty. The flavor of this beer was very strong for a stout. It closer in taste to a weak imperial stout.

Had this beer on tap at an Atlanta bar. This beer was actually pretty good. Black body and a nice head that quickly faded away. This beer had moments where it tasted pretty thin. The beer actually had the taste of milk I was very surprised. This beer was nice and sweet, coffee notes, and a decent taste. Nice palate. I would try this beer again I was happy.
