COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout.

on tap at Taco Mac (beer of the month - dec ’07). wonderful stout! I’ve been anxious to try this one and I am glad I did finally. a dark black and full of chocolate and coffee aromas. outstanding palate... it is bitter on the tip of the tongue and smooth and creamy on the sides and back. medium to full body and quite delicious. highly recommended stout.

ubamartian (155) - Watertown, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 29, 2007
Bottle. Pours brown tinted with some reds. Small dark tan head. Aroma is chocolate malt all the way with yeast undertones. Flavors of chocolate malt prevail over all. Smooth on the mouth, but a bit light for a stout. Decent chocolate malt aftertaste. Very easy to drink, almost wouldn’t call it a stout. But I liked the flavor so much it punched it up a bit.

Bottle at Microbar, Clapham. My first Brew Dog. Pours a reddish brown beer. Small beige heads forms. Breaddy biscuit nose with subtle roasted malts detected. Some carbonation. Cream taste with coffee. Dry sticky caramel finish. An ok beer.

Quite reasonable aroma, but visibly light in color for a sout. Toasty but quite fizzy and somewhat watery. Reasonable flavor but as roasted as you would expect even from a sweeter style stout. Average. Mediocre even. Starts nice and doesn’t follow through. Not really bad, just disappointing.

Bottle at Chris´s, november 07. Milk chocolate aroma, pure, simple and captivating milk chocolate aroma. Coffe, milk, milk chocolate flavor with a small hint of earthy hops. Warming and balanced. Dark, opaque brownish-black color with a nice, creamy beige head. Medium, smooth, silky mouthfeel with some charcoal notes. Wonderfull sweet stout.

The stout pours and settles quickly with a darker color head. It has a nice chocolate aroma and a nice smooth taste and aftertaste. This stout is quite easy to drink.

Poured black with medium deminishing head. Very frothy and creamy texture. Fairly sweet, fruit notes, actually had a milky taste to be honest. Hints of plum, milk chocolate, mocha. Pleasant aftertaste. Overall, pretty darn good. I may have this one again.
