Faint chocolate on the nose. Little carbonation or head. Dark brown in color with a strong coffee flavor and a creamy body.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Darker brown color with a sugary aroma. The mouthfeel was very watery with an unpleasant taste that reminded me of spoilt milk. Not a fun beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 21, 2008 Sweet aroma, with notes of coffee and roasted malts. Appearance is a dark brown/red, slight head. The flavor has a chocolate coffe taste, with definite notes of lactose from the milk. This milk sugar adds a slightly sour taste to the overall sweetness. Mouthfeel is a little thick, and the finish is long lasting. Overall a decent stout.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The aroma was deep chocolate and a fruity coffee presence. The aroma was toasty and roasty and contained a light sweetness and a touch of slight tart acidity. The beer poured into the glass black with a brown lasting head which hung around to lace the glass. The flavor was malty with a strong dark chocolate and espresso coffee presence. The flavor was not nearly as estery as the aroma, but still had a light bit of tart acidity from grains. The flavor was roasty, toasty and smooth. The body was medium or just a smidge above and with a moderate level of carbonation exhibited a creamy character in the mouthfeel. The finish was just dry with lasting espresso coffee and chocolate long into the aftertaste. This really is a great milk stout! 12 ounce bottle.

Bottle courtesy of Shp555: Poured a medium black color stout with a medium foamy head with better then average retention. Aroma of light roasted malt with some coffee. Taste is also dominated by some coffee malt with a good lactose feel also noticeable. The creamy texture was very interesting with a nice full body. I thought this beer was well balance between roasted coffee malt and the creamy lactose aspect of it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark pour with a thin tan head. Sweet and intense chocolate aroma with barely discernable roasty notes. Medium-bodied with medium carbonation. A lot more coffee comes out towards the middle. Mouthfeel takes on some creaminess and the finish is sweet but not cloying. Nice roasted malt, slightly bitter finish. Pretty good.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
A milk stout with a sweet smell, a shy roasty character, and a very watery mouthfeel. Not best of style.
Appearance is a dark brown with some red with lots of fluffy head composed of large bubbles. Aroma is slightly sweet, like a latte. But none of that aroma is forwarded into the taste, which is a bit of dark roastiness covered with a lot of wateriness. Mouthfeel is watery, and I don’t find this beer to be highly drinkable.
I’m not planning on having this again...it’s not bad, but there are too many other great beers in our wonderful world to spend much time with this one.

Had on tap at Barleys Smokehouse, Columbus...Poured dark brown, nice tan head. This tasted like sweet, light coffee, and roasted nuts...The milk or cream came on the finish...This was such a unique beer, and surprisingly GOOD. I really enjoyed the two very distinct flavors...The coffe was first, and the milk hung around for the finish...My first milk stout...I will definitely have this again!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
THOUGHTS: Still a bit behind on my ratings. Tried this one on Fat Tuesday. Sweet, creamy aroma with a tiny bit of sourness and some chocolate notes. Sweet chocolate and cream flavor with a little sourness, but a little watery. Nice body but a little thin for a stout. Good flavor but could be richer, but perfect for Fat Tuesday with its extra calories for a stout.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a large tan head that diminished quickly and left good lacing. The body was medium and water for a stout with fizzy carbonation.
