This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout.

A very smooth and creamy feeling stout. Plenty of roasty malt flavor without being overwhelming. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This review might have been much better if the beer was carbonated more. Toasty malt is well rounded by the milk sugar. No hops noticed as expected. Standard lower aroma of a stout. Easily quaffable. Needed to be carbonated more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hints of chocolate and coffee. Great aftertaste and aroma. Dark but not bitter. Very smooth. Loved it! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a nitro bottle. Pours black with a big brown head. Aromas of malts, coffee, and chocolate blend together. Tastes much the same with some light sweetness reminiscent of chocolate milk. The feel is very smooth and creamy with a bit of lightness to it. Overall a very nice, easy drinking stout, with similarities to Guinness.

Covering both nitro and basic with this review. (Nitro only) Has a cool cascade like effect after hard pour as head comes to the surface. Neat looking. Wonderful lacing from the lasting head. (Both) Dark black with a reasonable of white head. Aroma is roasty and almost char like quality along with some sweetness from the milk sugars. Both are smooth and front in the mouth the nitro being even more so. Flavor is somewhat sweet and roasted malt up front with a burnt sugar showing up in the finish. Solid. Basic beer scores only ever so slightly lower than posted scores (-1 for palate, appearence, and overall).

Flaska med namnet nitro systembolaget. Svart vätska. Beiget skum. Söt och rostad doft med gräddigt kaffe. I smak kan man verkligen känna mjölk. Framförallt i eftersmak.

Sehr geiles Sweet Stout! Schön mild und süß, toller Schaum beim Stürzen! Sehr dunkel, fast schwarz, weiße Krone. Geschmack ein wenig Honig, Pflaume, Weidemilch, Gras. Leicht malzig. Riecht herrlich. Perfekt geeignet zum Abhängen, so um 14-20 Grad wunderbar erfrischend und süffig. Wandert direkt als Basic in den Kühlschrank! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2015 This brew has a bit of a licorice bite, but it’s smooth and creamy. Great pour and really nice aroma. It’s a stout one doesn’t want to rush and I really enjoy the smooth nitro feel.
