This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout.

One of my favorite beers. I love stouts and porters but this beer made my German Beer loving friends admire the stout for the first time ever. Not very bitter like Guinness and not as complex as coffee stouts...very smooth and delicious. A must try for any fan of stouts.

4oz taster @ VCBW 2016- Day 2. A bit of tanginess, very creamy. Medium roast coffee, with a roasty exhale. Lvl-5-sweetness. Almost salty in there. Quite good, very smooth and drinkable.

Svart och rätt stilla. En rund och söt smak med malt och lite kaffe. Snäll och trevlig ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

If poured properly, as stated on the bottle, it comes out with a black opacity & tan/tar colored head. The dance if the nitro to create the topper is always a sight ..... The aroma has a strong roast, but is smoothed out by the lactose in the flavor which makes it more chocolate than roast on the flavor. The body is surprisingly lighter than expected, but still in the medium range. The beer finishes quite clean with a slight linger of roast. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is simply a milk Stout you could set your watch to... Has everything it needs to be good but nothing to make it elite. Standard roastiness with cocoa powder throughout. I was expecting a little more creaminess, a tad dry for the style.
