COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout.

Appearance: Very dark, nearly black. Love the cascading bubbles as the pint comes off the tap. Builds a majestically creamy white head at the top that sticks around forever. Some lacing, though nothing intense. Looks outstanding. Smell: Some faint roastiness, some bitter smokiness, and some chocolate notes. Smells like a stout, not much more to say here. Taste: Great balance between the roasty malt bitterness and a touch of chocolaty sweetness. This milk stout is not too sweet, probably because it does not have the addition of actual chocolate or other brewing adjuncts. This one has a right amount of sweetness to compliment, but not overpower, the roastiness, and makes this one drink somewhat like dessert coffee or dark chocolate mousse. Finishes sweet. Mouthfeel: Creamy due to the nitro bubbles. Felt smooth as silk on the palate. Overall: Exquisite smoothness from the nitro makes this balanced milk stout fantastically easy and pleasurable drinking. Would certainly buy again, especially when looking for a nice, easy-drinking stout. This beer is fantastic on-tap, and is a vast improvement over an already good bottled product. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I had this on the nitro tap on draft. Incredible! This may be tied with the nitro naked porter from Dry Dock as my favorite beers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bu le 18 août 2014 en bouteille. Œil: mousse beige exceptionnelle! Noir intense. Une fois versé dans le verre, il y a un spectacle pour nos yeux! Arôme: chocolat au lait et rôties. Goût: onctueuse, une belle présence en bouche. Chocolat au lait. Note: 4-4.5/5

On nitro tap at Skewed Brewing. Stout brown with a medium, lasting, pale brown head. The roast in the nose tells you it’s a stout, although not necessarily a cream stout. It’s definitely there in the flavour though. It’s pretty simple: chocolate milk and roast. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Solid stout.

One of our favorite stouts. Very dark in the glass with a beautiful creamy head. Tastes like dark chocolate and coffee. Incredibly smooth and creamy. Very nice.

Nice balance. Very nice milk stout with slightly chocolate character combined with lactose sweetness.

Nitro version in bottle. Pours almost black with a beautiful large head, leaving a nice lacing on the glass. Aroma: generally very subtle, with lactose, roasted malt, some chocolate and coffee. Taste: subtle roasted malt with coffee - Incredibly creamy and well balanced, which makes it super drinkable. The fact that I had to control myslef not to drink it in 5 minutes confirms the latter.
