COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout.

Chocolate aroma, nice creamy head. Beautiful dark color with a chocolate and oatmeal flavor. Doesn't wash off the palette too easily. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draft at Sharp Edge Brasserie. Poured jet black with light khaki head. Cocoa, little chocolate, cigarette smoke. Thin, finishes a bit dry.

Best by date of 03.22.14. Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler on 03.25.14. A: Motor oil. Cream-colored head. S: Coffee, milk chocolate, toffee. Sweet smelling. T: Cocoa, coffee, toffee. It does have some roastiness and a hint of dark chocolate. M: Creamy. O: The roastiness nicely balances the sweetness. The toffee flavor was strong, which I liked.

I do love a good stout and thus is a classic of the style. Very smooth. Slightly sweet. Moderate roast. Opaque with good lacing.

Pours black with almost no head. Slight aroma of milk bottle sweets but it’s not strong. Delicious taste of milk bottle sweets followed by a hint of milk chocolate.

A good stout with a good roasted dark chocolate malty flavor. A good coffee taste that lingers after each sip.

Bottle @ home. Black body with a brown head, Aromas of milk chocolate and some vanilla. Taste of milk chocolate, vanilla, some dark fruits, sweet coconut and sweet aftertaste. Medium to full body with medium carbonation.

No complaints. But I do prefer a wee but heavier Stout, like an imperial stout. Everything is great with this brew but I just like my stouts a bit chewy.
