checkmatei1 (198), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 14, 2008 Bottle: Poured a deep dark brown with a small amount of head. The flavor was roasted coffee, caramel, and chocolate. A little more like a burnt coffee. Overall, a decent beer, a little too over roasted for my liking.
IlanMan (454), Winona, Minnesota, USA Jul 7, 2008 Now this is what I like a stout to taste like. Nice dark pour with a medium tan head. Aroma is strong of roasted malt, a little burntness, and light chocolate. Flavor is very smooth, perfectly roasted, good amount of burnt character that mixes very well with the lactose and oats in the finish. Somewhat of a sweet but smooth finish. Very drinkable beer and worth another buy. Very tasty. scotch4281 (3), Hollywood, Florida, USA does not count Jul 7, 2008 Left Hand is a great tasting American Stout. I was very happy to try this beer at my local pub. The beer goes down smooth and has a semi sweet flavor. I recommend pouring it in a glass first to let it breath before drinking. Trev (448), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Jul 6, 2008 pours dark brown with ruby tones and a thin head.
aroma is bitter dark roast coffe tones, light choc.
Flavour is a really nice balance of creamy milkey sweetness and bitter dark roast malt.
Nice soft finish.
While the aroma is a bit light, the flavour was excellent. The best sweet stout I’ve had...yes I liked it better than Rogue Chocolate. drjay44 (76), USA Jul 5, 2008 Nice milk chocolate nose, dark color, thin mouthfeel, sweetish after taste. A nice milk stout. BlackMail (46), Evergreen, Colorado, USA Jul 5, 2008 Poured dark with a foamy head. After my previous experence with blackjack I was doubtful that this would be a decent beer. Tasted sweet with a chocolate milk taste.
