COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout.

Bottle. Poured a muddy dark brown with a very slight red hue. The light brown head was suprisingly small yet frothy, which dissapated quickly with only a small residue remaining allowing for a fair amount of lacing on the glass. The aroma was nice and robust with a moderatly strong scent of dark bread malts and a sweet doughy yeast with hints of milk chocolate, molasses and a strong coffee presence. It tasted lighty sweet and flavorful with molasses and chocolate notes from the onset, then ended mildly biiter-sweet with a wonderfull strong note of coffee that lingered on the palate for a nice long while. Mouthfeel was creamy in texture and overall feel with the body being medium to full. Both were balanced very well and worked quite well together. Overall an excellent stout. Blending of the flavors was without a doubt perfectly balanced, although it could have been just a tad heavier in body.

Pours a clear looking black, red when held up to the light. Thought this one was going to be flat, but eventually a pretty good sized head rose from the ashes. Aromas of tobacco spit, coffee grinds, burnt twigs. Taste is chocolate bar, powdered cocoa, some light roast and a hint of marshmallow. Finishes pretty sweet with just a hint of ass drippings. Not bad.

Nitro tap. Big, black body erupts with creamy tan, nitro-infused head. Plentiful lace stubbornly remains on my glass. A bit roasty with caramel accents in the aroma; wish it were more concentrated.

Mmm, roasted malts. Milk chocolate and lactose solids. Hoppy in the middle, dark malts take over before finishing dry with a touch of hop bitterness. Tasty.

I find this refreshing as hell. I'll choose a pint of this on a hot summer day over a light lager every time.

12oz bottle in MA labled as ’nitro’ for some reason. Decent dark stout, mild sweetness and good dry coffee bitter. Good stout, strong and dry.

Pours a dark black some brown and very little room for highlights. Dense foam climbs up my glass even after 3 or 4 sips. Aromas of coffee, cane sugar and cocoa waft up from the glass. Drinks smooth and bitterness is decent from both hops and roasted malt. Well balanced and not overly bitter or big in alcohol. Clean finish.

Had at Cincy airport. Unfortunately, poured into an ice cold hefeweizen glass which was only one bar had. Still, this was excellent. Dark brown pour, little head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Comes through on the taste, too. Coffee, roasted malt and some mild sweetness. Very drinkable and excellent milk stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ 2nd tuesday tasting, nitro version. Pours dark brown to black with a small off-white head. Aroma is heavy coffee, roasted malts and milk chocolat. Taste is quite sweet, coffee, roasted malts and a soft bitterness. Very smooth creamy texture. Nice stout.

Great dark color, basically coffee smell, complex fruity and coffee taste. Almost no head. Coffee aftertaste, very enjoyable.

Pours very dark with tan head. Some lacing is apparent on the cup. Is sweet with dark malty tastes. Some chocolate taste. I personally would enjoy this beer again and again.

The left hand milk Stout Nitro had a bitter bite to it. Was not my favorite beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
