COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Thanks for purchasing another offering in our Big Mo’ Series. Widdershins, our counterclockwise biennial barleywine aged in oak casks reveals fruity notes of orange and apricot upon a foundation of oak, garlanded with earthy hoppiness. Our answer to waning daylight and frigid temperatures can be enjoyed immediately or saved in your cellar for a snowy day. Cheers!

Deep aroma, dark and bubbly, very clean palate, then the taste...this has many layers of taste that are great, but combined they might be too much. Its also pretty heavy so be ready. Like a lot of beers this big, it gets better the deeper you get in the bottle. Its like acid, It has a lot going on, so like I said, be ready to take the ride. RAR

I dug this one, I thought it was very good. Had the 2009 yesterday, so aged 2 years or so I’d guess. Smooth, slightly sweet, with some bite from the brandy barrell aging. Recommended.

Big thanks to Blake for sharing this. 07’ vintage. For an older bottle this beer has really help up well. Aroma still had hops to it along with malt and slight honey. The flavor was still slightly sweet and malty but had definitely mellowed a little. A great beer!

Big Bottle, had a hard time popping the cork. Poured a amber orange color with a medium head the would not go away. Aroma of grainy malts and oak, less fruity tones than a regular barley style. Lite sweetness with a lite to med bitterness. Slight sticky texture, medium body (at least). Ave carbonation. Long finish. I think this is the first time I’ve tried a oaked barley wine style. Not bad. Worth trying.

’09 Bottle: Copper color with a thin ring of beige head. Aroma is malty, albeit a bit stale. Light barrel notes. Taste is somewhat perplexing... it seems faded and weak; almost what I’d expect from a pale ale thats been barrel aged and cellared. Light florals, dusty, faint bready malts, and mild barrel notes. Nothing offensive, just not real flavorful.
