This beer is available each autumn in celebration of the great Bavarian festival season. Brewed in late spring and cellared throughout the summer, our Oktoberfest is produced through traditional methods as it has been for centuries in Germany, This copper-hued lager owes its rich malt flavor to a generous combination of select Vienna and Munich malts. Cool, open-fermentation develops a subtle elegance and drinkability suited to any festive occasion.

Thanks to Robert’s Reality for this. The pour was deep copper, with a 1 to 2-finger head. Caramel malt and some fruit was present in the aroma, with the flavor being caramel malt, some slight fruit, and some cabernet flavor in the finish.

Bottle. Buttery caramel malt with hint of hay. Clear copper color with small head. Sweet butter/caramel malt flavor with mild bitter straw. Medium body - not great, not horrible.

I lied in my last review when I stated I was finally done with Oktoberfests this season, somehow this bottle landed in my lap so I ought to review it. Pours a lot more reddish than most Oktoberfests, with a big dirty white head. Smell is typical but with a hint of toecheese. The smell is awful for an Oktoberfest This is one freaky tasting Oktoberfest, hops are there but it is ultra fruity and metallic. One of the worst Oktoberfests I have tasted. Bottled on 8/22/07. Poured clear medium orange with a grayish-beige head. The aroma picked up almost artificially-sweetened toasty caramel with herbal and dried leafy notes. The flavor had the same sweet caramel base with an almost sour herbal and medicinal bitterness surrounding the tongue.. otherwise sweet and pleasant enough. Light-medium bodied.. sour at a couple points, almost syrupy at others.. overall a decent flow and feel. Not a good Marzen, but not bad either.

Draught. Low white and quickly disappearing head. Clear dark brown body. Malty caramel aroma Flavor also malty caramel but with a somewhat sharp bitterness that reminds me of juniper. Low carbonation, long aftertaste.

Bottle pours clear copper with off white head. The aroma is sweet caramelly lagery notes, some spiciness, some apricot and peach and then mild graininess. The taste is grainy then sweet malt and then caramel and then sweet lageriness. Around those notes are thin fruity layers of pears and apricots as well as lingering hop bitterness.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear orange with a medium to large creamy off white head. Bread, grain, malt, earthy hops. Medium body, light spicy booze component, earthy malts with a bit of biscuit and caramel. Finishes with a touch of plumy sweetness, and some hoppy bitterness.

12 oz. bottle shared at The Royale, but I believe he got it at Wine and Cheese Place. Hell of a label; I’m liking the new artwork for Left Hand. Pours a clear copper color with a small bone white head. Aroma is almost reminiscent of a lighter mead, with honey, caramel malts, and ripe red apples. The flavor shows all of these, along with some nutmeg and Vienna and Munich malts. Medium-bodied, with a sticky mouthfeel and low carbonation. Sweet and smooth. This is a great take on the style, and way underrated.
