Bottle. Light amber in color with some cloudyness. Off white film on top for a head. Sweet malt aroma. Medium palate. Not as good as a Paulaner but still not bad.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep, dark cooper with deep reds and brown hues. Almost a brown ale look. Roasted deep sweet malt, a step under sticky. Very little carbonation and a small hop bitter slide at the end. Sweetness fades at the end but rounds out well. A nice Oktoberfest.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the Oktoberfest at CBB Bud Left hand Oktoberfest 6.8% is a clear amber with a soft malty caramel aroma, sweet. It’s got a round active carbonation that prickles the tongue. The taste is malty caramel, bready with a nice little hop bite in the finish.

Amber color with thick, white head which dissipates significantly. Smooth of the palate, moderately carbonated. Malty flavor. Very good beer.

12 oz. bottle from Prost Beer and Wine. Although I have had this before I had to pick up another because I forgot to rate. Reason I forgot to rate it is because it’s rather forgettable. Aroma is standard stale yeast, breads and caramel found in the style.
The flavor is indeed classic of the style but the thing that kills it for me is the very thin body. Watery in texture. Nothing off putting just thin. Sweet toffee/ caramel finish.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear copper pour with thinnest of tan on top. Aromas are malty toast and caramel. Flavor is more of the same. Simple, tasty, though slightly too carbonated. Great for the style - glad I got six. This is a winner.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Bert’s
Deep copper color off white head.
Big bready caramel maltiness. A bit too much caramel for the style. Earthy spicy hops to counter. Middle of the road American attempt at a classic German style.

Draft. Copper color with quickly dissipating head. Mildly sweet flavor. An average Marzen nothing outstanding.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle into pint glass, clear copper-amber color with light tan head. Aroma notes of caramel malt sweetness, toast and faint earthiness. Taste adds light toffee, roast and faint bitter spiciness. Light-medium body,low-moderate carbonation, creamy yet crisp, with clean minimal roast finish. Overall a pretty solid Oktoberfest.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: SEP 26, 2015 Tap at Muddy Pig. Pint glass. Amber like color. There is not a lot going on in terms of aroma but it’s leaning into the Oktoberfest realm. Pretty bland. Taste is malty first with a hint of bitterness. Mild overall. Little to no body or finish. Sweetness is there but gives way to a forgettable finish. It’s hard to hit a home run in this style and we don’t have worry about this Left Hand effort meeting that expectation. Meh.
