2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Not bad, I guess. Never been a huge pilsner fan, but it beats the hell out of your average macro. As a craft beer, though, itís just below middle of the road. Pours a clear gold in color with an inch-thick white head. Aroma of slightly sour malt, some hops. Flavor is much the same: mildly sweet with a subtle hop bitterness. Fairly well balanced, velvety slick mouthfeel. Great lacing. Overall decent beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Crisp, refreshing, bland. There isnít much to this one, it does have some nice pilsner characteristics like more bite than a lager, it also really has a nice mellow mouthfeel, however it doesnít have much more.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
In my somewhat naive opinion, a pilsener has to truly be exceptional to even get noticed. A Victory Prima Pils, for example. This offering from Left Hand isnít. A body the color of hay rested under a small white head. Some hints of spice in the nose, grassy hops, and frat party notes. Watery and weak in the mouth. Tasted like BMC/PBR.

Full size, on tap at the brewery, 4/13/06: Bright yellow with thin-to-zero white head. Sharp and bitter in the German style. Extremely crips. Well made!

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Draft... Lightly hazy, straw-colored lager with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The nose is citrusy and grainy. Well-balanced flavor, but thin. Spicy and citrusy with a decent hop bite. Light-bodied with a mildly creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Finishes crisp and clean.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft, Baja Bean, Staunton VA. Pale straw color with white head. Nose of lemon citrus, hay, clean grassy hops, bread, and some light malt sweetness. Flavor follows, and is surprisingly full-bodied for the color-- not at all thin and watery. Citrusy, slightly tart, slightly sweet, some faint metallic funkiness in the background, general breadiness, and very clean and crisp without lacking anything in flavor or body. Iím surprised at the low ratings on this one. Perhaps this keg was very fresh or thereís an issue with bottle freshness or consistency, but this was a darn fine pils!

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear golden color with a filmy white head. Sweet aroma wtih some grain and soapiness. Bit of corn in the taste along with some hay notes. Not really that good. Crisp finish, slightly dry.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This particular Left Hand beer is not very good. I donít recommend it. Itís too watery and uninteresting. Check out the Sawtooth Ale instead.
