2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pale golden body with a thin white head. Aroma of corn, hops, and a touch of skunk. Light-bodied with a good punch of carbonation. Starts a bit sweet but quickly turns bitter and spicy. Not a very pleasant aftertaste.

While this may be refreshing on a hot summer’s day, it is ultimately too tame and a bit of a missed opportunity.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear yellow color, good white head. A bit rough ryeish-hoppy aroma. Light to medium-bodied. A bit bready, some American hoppy bitterness. Kind of like SNPA with lager yeast. Could be freshier.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
a bready though not necessarily yeasty nose, grassy hop character, borderline skunky aromatics (not in a good way), clear pale coloring and white foam, medium bitterness, light body as expected, but feels thin. just doesn’t deliver. Unfortunately, LH’s Polestar fails to stand out in an overcrowded, underwhelming pack of craft American pilsners.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
355ml bottle, slightly hazy gold colour, somewhat firm medium white head. Piney aroma with herbs and a hint of grapefruit and cereal, dry taste. Longish bitter finish, medium carbonation. Very refreshing pilsner and well hopped, could have a bit more malt to back it up and to get some depth in the taste and aroma though.

2.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle aroma and slight hop and bottle. Not impressive. Basic poor job of a pilsner maybe on draft would be better.

This is an average pilsner. Had a bottle after mowing he lawn (the only time I’m in the mood for a pilsner). Kind of reminds me of Stroh’s. A bit bitter, but still better than a mass produced brew. While I probably won’t buy this one again, I’ll certainly check out what other brews that Left Hand Brewery has to offer.

As I took a drink and beer flew up my nose out of the bottle I was able to smell a beer in the need of an identity. Lets give it one. I remember one of my roommates in the past who was a professional pole dancer. She would come home smelling like beer and smoke. Thats what I smelled when this beer went up my nose. I never really liked the girl but she payed rent on time. I taste a week pine taste with a hint of chicken soup. This is a light/medium body beer and for ma pretty fizzy. It did not leave very much after taste in my mouth, but its hard to say because i was eating salty peanuts with it. OVerall its a pretty OK beer. It brought up some old memories of the girls that used to hang out at the house before they went to their pole dancing job. So if your going out to watch some pole dancers dont forget to bring some polestars along. DOnt foget if you drink at work be sure to have a stick of big red close by.
