Commercial Description:
Thanks for purchasing another offering in our Big Mo' Series. Our Rye Bock is a pleasant departure from traditional bocks and rye beers. The use of malted rye in beer finds its origins in Bavaria. We here at Left Hand use a bottom fermenting lager yeast, paired with a hop profile of classic German bocks. Our Rye Bock gets a wonderful tangy spiciness from the rye, accompanied by dried cherry aromas in the nose. It is a beer of great flavor with a long, savory finish. The image of a goat has traditionally been the symbol of bock beers. It was customary to feed goats rye to make them potent in the spring. We love the marriage of these two ideas. Will our Rye Bock exacerbate your spring fever? Maybe not, but trying out old folklores never tasted so good.

pours amber with tan head. Aroma is malty, rye and caramel with light floral hops. Yeasty nose - vegetable, grassy -. Taste is similar to aroma. Malty light roasted and caramel. Rye with light hoppy finish, giving the beer a nice velvety mouthfeel.. Everything comes together with the malts and hops for a well balanced beer.

Style and Glass: Dunkler Bock, Mug; Snifter ABV, Volume & Calories: 7.7% in 25.36 fl oz. estimated at 400 C Purchased at: Canal’s Lawrenceville, NJ for $2.79 (down from $14 ea — I picked up 6 for $15 — madmen there, and they better stay nutso) Aroma: very nice, inviting, flowery, rye, bready, wheaty, grassy, meadow, rain. Visuals: interesting label, like an aged iced tea, deep murky brown, cloudy, thick off white head, sticky lace. Taste: very well balanced, brown ale, sage, onions, rye, roses, tea, chai, some hops, medium strength. Palate: very nice, smooth oily texture, medium, light, tasty finish. Overall: A summery brew, refreshing, very enjoyable. A repeat, 6x at least. Maybe my favorite bock so far. Amazing value — makes me wonder why the run on the price. well crafted.
