COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sawtooth Ale is an English style Extra Special Bitter. It is an extremely well balanced beer, with significant hop character, medium body, and a maltiness which increases in evidence as the beer warms to its "proper" drinking temperature. . The water used is quite hard, bringing it to near Burton on Trent levels, keeping it true to the style. This gives it the appropriate character and improves the malt extract significantly.

12 oz bottle from Spirits Point. Poured a thicker looking orangey rust body under a smaller foamy off white head. Initial aroma has a big blast of caramel sweetness along with dough that leads to more toasty grains and honey. Medium bodied with lighter carbonation and an almost creamy finish with a touch of bitterness. Flavor is on the boring side with notes of dried out orange rind, dry old bread hint of nuttiness. Meh nothing special here.

Bottle- Pours a dark copper color with a small head and some lacing. Aroma of pine and citrus with mild roasted malt, fresh grain and bit of herbs. Solid flavor of roasted malt with a trace of sweetness, some grain and herbs. There is a nice bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body, smooth and creamy. Very good balance. Very easy drinker, good for more than a few. Very enjoyable ESB. Check it out.

Pours a fairly light copper with a thin white head. It has a sweet, citrusy aroma. The taste is of lightly toasted malt with slightly bitter, citrus hops. The mouthfeel is a little light for my tastes, but it’s a pretty good beer.

Bottle bought home from Tap East, Stratford City. Pours an amber / light caramel with a bubbly off white head. Quite a bready, malty aroma, a hint of raisin with a faint citrus hop aroma. Quite drying on the palate. Taste comes with caramel malt hit then a banana, almost banoffee flavour drying quckly into a doughy bready sftertaste thats also a little sweet and treacley. This beer reminds me very much of a ghost of a banana bread dessert topped with a little caramel sauce. Tasty, but lacking a little presence.

A: Amber body.. thin offwhite head.. moderate lacing.. S: Soft floral hops... coffee malts.. some grain/bready smells.. T: Caramel malts dominate... grain and bready add some depth... thats about it though... M: Medium-light body... could be a bit smoother O: An alright beer...

Bottle from my Secret Santa, many thanks. Amber color with small white head. Malty, fruity aroma with hints of toffee and vanilla. Taste, roasted malt, caramel, red fruit, pines, bitter hops. Light bitter finish. Good beer.

On nitro tap. Nose like a classic ESB. Head white and thick color red amber. Initial taste is clean slighlty hoppy building on a more hoppy note on the end. Easy drinking I could drink this all day. Well balanced not overpowering in any aspect.
