The nose is very faint with some malt and not much else. Taste is malt and very light hops. Light-to-medium mouth feel. Not much to this one. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA

Smell is not much at all but what you do smell is that of malts. Taste of hops and a very dry hop taste. Bitter, yes. Good brew, not great! jeremytoni (1081), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

Taste is again of floral hops with light bitter finish.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 16, 2009 12oz bottle. Poured a copper color with a one finger head that has decent retention but not a lot of lacing. Smells malty with a bit of caramel and sweet fruits. Taste is malty up front with a strong caramel flavor with some fruit that turns into a nice bitter finish that balances out the initial sweetness very nicely. Overall a pretty enjoyable ESB.
