3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Amber, small bubbly head. Sweet floral toffee aroma. Fruity but a bit thin flavour of peaches and toffee with vague floral aftertaste. Round light body.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Decent frothy head. Creamy on top. Light carbonation. Light hops aroma with a bit of caramel and malts. Color is a slightly hazy orange amber. Sharp metallic flavor. More piney hops and a hint of orange. Dry palate. Kind of thin body. Finish is dry and bitter and leaves the tongue looking for more. Ok brew but could be a lot better.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a reddened amber body with a small white head. Nose is toasty malts, light caramel and light hops. Taste is nicely hopped and slightly spicy and earthy . More toasted malts and light caramel or toffee notes also. Body is surprisingly full bodied with a medium-full carbonation feel. Finishes with more earthy and lightly spiced hops along with light bitterness and toasty malts. Minimal sweetness in the finish. Some dry notes during the finish as well. Not too bad!

$1.49 for a 12-oz single. Nice amber with a large head. Smells hoppy, chalky. Mild, almost nul taste. Metallic.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This appeared a clear amber color with about 2 fingers worth of frothy white head. The head quickly died down to a cap of bubbles leaving sparse lacing around the glass. All I can pick up in the nose is the sweet caramel malt. The taste was similar with caramel malt dominating and a slightly fruity sweetness joining it. Even though the finish is slightly bitter the sweetness is still a little excessive. This is about a medium body brew with good carbonation. I easily finished this and could have had another if not for the eventually overbearing sweetness. Overall a decent ESB but there are better choices available.

itís about the color of cassette tape-- a lot more clear than cassette tape, yes, but not as strong as cassette tape. it settled into a tumbler like a fat man into a lazyboy recliner, filling the space and bulging a bit as well with a brief corpulence of foam. the foam melted away however, like a half-hearted insurgency, before it had even been fired upon. aromatically, it hasnít much to say. tongue tied, reserved, or vacuuous? it soon becomes clear that the aroma is more than just demurely circumspect-- there is really nothing there at all. you ask it: "what kinda hops you got in there?" and it grunts a barely audible and irritable response that suggests youíre bothering it when it was trying to nap. the kind of aroma that makes one wonder if the aroma is in a code that we canít translate. verily, an icecube or jar of marbles has more aroma. soft carb, and water leads the sensory "parade" of flavors. a bit of sweet malt starts to say something but is interupted by more water and thus looses itís train of thought. hops similarly stand up in a flustered way to apparently aggitate about something important, but again water grandstands and pushes all body and character away from the mike. has approximately the flavor youíd get if you simmered a couple grocery bags and bread ends with a crackled old dictionary from the nineteen twenties and then carbonated the juices. weak, watery, and dull as the fine print in an insurance form. my god.
